At least 3 losses every season after Hatfields first two seasons

And at least 4 every season since Hatfield
Hatfield was very unlucky to follow Ford; just a bad fit. Wrong place, wrong time. Cautionary tale for DeBoer and whomever follows Dabo.
Dabo has had 4 losses ONCE in the last 13 seasons. I know we could have 4 this season, but not likely.
Boy, that 1991 ACC Championship really sticks out like a sore thumb, doesn’t it? Dang FSU!!

One thing that sticks out beyond the things you mention are the bowl losses.

I mean 4-10 in bowls is horrible plus five years without a bowl between the Danny and Dabo years, a total of 18 years. We finished ranked in the top ten (9th) once in those 18 years and in the top 25 a total of 7 times in 18 years.
Since Dabo took over we have played in a bowl every year and because of the playoffs, two post season games in four different years. A total of 19 bowl (post season) games in 15 years, 12-7, with at least one post season win in 10 of 15 years and two of the losses in national championship games. Plus 8 of the 15 years we finished ranked in the top 10 and were in the top 25 every year but one with two Natty's.
It is great to have been so good over the last 15 years that people whine when we lose a couple of games. I realize many of you weren't around for the previous 18 years before Dabo but those years were horrible.
In my mind the elevation of this program by Dabo has earned him a lifetime pass as long as we are competitive and continue to have winning records every year. Look at EVERY school out there not named Alabama over the last 15 years and tell me who's results you would trade for ours.
GO TIGERS!!!

Making a bowl is nice but far easier now than in the old days. Seems like everyone can go to some bowl just for having a pulse.

It has been that way for a while, that is why I said Dabo deserves a pass as long as we are competitive and continue to have winning records every year, not go to a bowl every year. Going to a bowl with a 6-6 or 5-7 record is not acceptable. I believe the expectation should be 7 or more wins in occasional down years and the normal expectation of 9 or more wins.

It is very valid. The only times we have missed going to a bowl since Hatfield took over were losing records and a brawl with a 6-5 record.

Yeah But Clemson did not go to just any ole bowl. Come on dude! Give credit where it is due! There are only 2 possible candidates for the greatest coach of the 21rst century and perhaps even all times they are Nick Saban and Dabo ! Get over yourself!

I am always surprised when I realize that Clemson held onto Tommy Bowden for 10 years.

I was thinking the same thing looking at all those subpar records. I think Bobby Bowden being at Florida State gave him a few extra years because of father son matchup’s. The who is Ann Bowdens team .. boring tenure.

One big difference between Danny and those that followed him was he treated Bowl games as chances to win against some great coaches and programs and Bowden maybe looked at the games as rewards and an opportunity to get ahead for the next year. We were lucky enough to go to bowl games against teams coached by coaches like Hayes, Paterno, Osborne, and Switzer and winning those games was hugely important to Danny and his players. Dabo sees both reasons to win and the results are evident.
