There's something in these hills.

For real, there are more people complaining

Dec 12, 2016, 12:34 PM

about posts than actually posting. Why don't people post another topic if they don't like the ones posted? Or do they just like to whine?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably tough with so many butt hurt people..

Dec 12, 2016, 12:57 PM

still crying about ESPN being out to get us etc etc. Those tim foil hat people are conaumed and poat non stop.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't poat that much anymore...

Dec 12, 2016, 1:42 PM

although I might be conaumed ( or not?) :)

Are you surprised that this All-American list

Dec 12, 2016, 12:31 PM [ in reply to Re: Once Again, No Respect.... and no surprise ]

along with multiple other ones, have no Clemson players at all? We have one of the best teams in our history, and we don't have a single All American?

Are you not surprised that the winner of the 2 best QB awards in college football is not first team?

Yep...I noticed that too...every other playoff team has 1-2 players in that list. We have none. It's going to be epic when Dabo faces Meyer and Saban back to back.

Apparently national media folks don't think Mike Williams, Jordan Leggett, Christian Wilkins and Carlos Watkins are at All American level...Let's see how it all plays out!

Rest well tigers and surprise the college football world in a few weeks!

No I'm not biatching or complaining, or whinning - I'm just plain pi$$ed off. You have at least one person from every playoff contender on the team. I looked at the SI first and second team listing too and guess what DW4 is 2nd team and that's it my friend. We have Danm fine football players that deserve some national attention and respect. Mike Williams will be the first WR selected in nfl. Leggett prob will too. I'll take Wayne Train over anyone. You trying to tell me there isn't anyone on the Defense that should be at a minimum 2nd. team.

No, I'm not a whinny baby, not taking my toys and going home either. No, I'm just plain pi$$ed !

Now Tiger guys, you go to the desert and then to fla and show em who the real winners are !!!

Not to mention that ESPN had like 7 tigers in the top 50 college football players list. Why didn't they get put on their All-America team? Pure bias.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

But there top 50 isn't biased?

Dec 12, 2016, 5:30 PM

That makes sense.

You would think Leggett Watson Williams Wilkins Watkins Boulware Tank and Johnson would all have a chance

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I believe the players will take notice... and that's GOOD.***

Unbelievable... just utterly unbelievable.

Dec 12, 2016, 1:23 PM

We have NO ONE on the 1st team and our NCAA record setting, Heisman runner up QB doesn't even make the 2nd team (which was selected to be neither of the other 2 QBs on the Heisman ballot).

And like another poster pointed out... no Mike Williams, no Christian Wilkins, no Jordan Leggett on first or second team???? Sorry, but that is absurd.

To ESPN, it's all about the big name teams and subscribers - translation, it's all about the money. I relish in the fact they are losing subscribers at alarming rates each month - and did my part to assist. I look forward to other networks competing in the near future for the broadcast rights and not having 80% of the talking heads and opinions from one source whose largest clientele drive the attention. Just like someone always said, "what goes up, must come down!!!"

As for the respect, I look for Dabo to coach our boys up and whip some @$$ at the end of this month. And, if we win it all, I hope Dabo doesn't field one single question from the ESPN media in the post-game... not one.

I would not classify the ESPN selections as the most important nor the most prestigious. If I read correctly, their teams are selected by one person.

Personally, I would call the AP selections the most important especially since they've been around the longest (since 1925). Of the 75 available slots on the AP teams, the 4 teams in the playoffs claim 19 (25%) and that sounds about right to me. A handful of schools have more than 1 team member and the vast majority have a single member.

My thought is since the AP has been doing this for almost 100 years they've worked out the process...

OSU 6
Clemson 5

Same here. I wouldn't know about it if not for this board. It's just some made up thing by a media outlet. Like Grammys, except not many people have even heard of this ESPN thing.

Put it this way: Snoop Dogg and Guns n Roses have never won a Grammy, but have had sold over 80 million albums. Kiss also has never won a Grammy, but Gene Simmons has sold enough of his work to buy Latvia and have it gift wrapped if he gets the whim.
Do you think he'd like to trade that acknowledgement of his work for a trophy from a media company? Maybe trade places with Mark Cohn? He's got a Grammy. Remember him? Yeah, me either.

Same with this or that "voting" award for sports. Nice, good for keeping books up on the mantel, but meaningless compared to that scoreboard.
