Kick To The Gut: Tigers Top Dawgs in Athens
As he stood up in front of the locker room before the Tigers journeyed on to the field at Sanford Stadium on September 20, 1986, Ford pounded his right fist into his left palm over and over again as he spoke to his players. ‘If you hit them on every play, there will be a play in the fourth quarter when you will see they will quit.’ Lo and behold, he was right. "...they did not want to get hit anymore. And we made plays” Clemson wide receiver Keith Jennings said.
Clemson did make plays. With the game tied at 28, Georgia was driving for the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter when on an option keeper from the Clemson 15, Jackson was stripped of the football and bandit end John Johnson recovered it on the Tigers’ nine-yard line.
With the defense finally making stops, it was the offense’s turn to make some plays; and those plays came from running back Terrance Flagler and quarterback Rodney Williams.
On second-and-11 from his own 35 with just over a minute to play, Flagler took a deep hand-off from Williams and bounced outside where wide receivers Ray Williams and Ricardo Hooper held their blocks long enough to allow Flagler to get around the left corner for 16 yards.
On the next play, Williams kept the ball around left end and rumbled to the Georgia 35, then to the 29, setting up David Treadwell for a possible game-winning kick with 4 seconds to play. The rest, as they say, is history.

Hey we scored a TD. Not sure how many straight quarters we have played them without scoring a TD as of late. I can remember 8 right off the top of my head.
On another note those years were awesome and the games with Georgia were always intense.

31 straight drives / 10 straight quarters vs UGA with no TDs, only two FGs.
This win in 1986 was the last time Clem beat UGA at Sanford. Most of the people on this board weren't even born yet. I looked up the UGA Clem history at Sanford...
Clem is 7-27-1 vs UGA in Athens. Those 7 wins are in 1986, 1977, and lol 1914 1905, 1903, 1901, and 1900

You have too much time on your hands and possibly need therapy.

To have the time to create an account and continuously post on an opponent’s website weeks after your team’s game against them is over means you haven’t found anything more productive to do. No doubt you are posting on Georgia’s site and probably others as well.
I understand being here to talk trash and have fun with us during game week but what you continue to do is a waste of your time.
Your team won. We get it. However, is a world outside of the internet waiting on you to do more of what really matters.

It actually only took about 6 seconds to pull those numbers. At least you have a winning record against one SEC team.

We got the ball back on our 36 with 1:11 to go and one time out. Tie game.
Moved to their 29 in five plays and called the TO with four seconds left. Kicked the FG and won.
Number of passes thrown on that drive: zero.
(Thanks again for posting these so regularly. Much appreciated.)
