Suicide comments last night: “That was such a poor attempt at humor on my part, and just a really bad choice of words in a bad moment and certainly not something I should say and I absolutely apologize for that.”

Unfortunately, the press conference room isn't the Lunge and if you are a self-proclaimed Christian who made the statement that the Clemson Program has followed NIL for years in that we built this pregame in God's Name Image and Likeness, you probably shouldn't be making comments meant to be a joke about suicide in as press conference. I don't think he meant anything by it and it was obviously meant as a joke, but you have to be aware of what you say when you have used God as a talking point in previous press conferences. Things like this make the media jump on Dabs in a bad way.

Again, I know he meant no harm in what he said, but Dabs has got to start thinking before he speaks.

Minor mistake. Quickly apologized. Uproar over nothingness like that can cause a person to say, "I don't need this anymore."

I think halfway through Tommy's tenure he walked into the locker room after a bad loss, took out a toy pistol, and pretended to be about to shoot himself. Was funny. Nobody thought a thing about that. Now is not then, and no one would do that now, but a comment like Dabo's shouldn't be a big deal.
