Didn't realize it was from that far.
Side note: we got screwed by the refs/timekeeper on the ensuing kickoff. Our guy (maybe Flagler?) ran the kickoff back to inside the Georgia 40 and went out of bounds with a second left on the clock. But then the second magically disappeared. Thought Danny's head was going to asplode.

cleared by an easy margin. Just like you saw (it was a perfect angle from our end zone) the runner (maybe Terrence Rouhlac sp?) DID get out of bounds before clock expired. On the way home riding thru the country, there were these little kids in their yard waving at everybody going by and there was a sign in the yard that said The Butler Did It. Not too funny to me at the time. Actually it still isn't.

Each team with a FG attempt to end the game...biggest surprise is that there was 1 second left for the Dawgs attempt.

He wasn't close at the end of the 83 game, from about the same distance, but nailed it in 84

think Larry "dawgpoop" Munson was such a great announcer. Besides his complete lack of anything resembling an unbiased approach towards doing the pbp of any game UGa was in, I personally thought his professional technique sorely lacking. It was difficult to discern exactly what was going on in the opposing teams camp because Munson was openly cheering for the dawgs.
Plus, I hated that nasally, very "small" voice.
I'm sure he was a nice guy, though.....:~)

Munson at Georgia, Ward at Tennessee, Fife at Auburn, etc...just another part of what made the Southern game so great!

football I have ever heard and he always remembered the most important thing for a radio guy, tell you where the ball is.
"He's down to the 30, 29, 28, 27 and a half."

Who else says that? Classic Munson. I just think he is entertaining and it is an example of one of the things that makes college football better than the nfl.
