I may be wrong but it seemed noticeable to me that Putnam did not do the left arm point prior to snapping the ball. It has probably been discussed on here since Saturday but that arm flick was pretty darn consistent as a signal that the ball was about to move prior to Saturday. If I was an opposing team, I’d be teeing off DL on that signal until Clemson changed it. Glad we did.
Of course he didn't. It's a home game. Our crowd is quiet when we are doing our snap count.
You will see pros do the same sort of thing. Some bob their heads. Some shake their heads. Some point. Some teams have their OG do the pointing or whatever.
Not saying we shouldn't do somethign different or mix things up somehow, but if the coaches determine that the rest of the folks need some sort of visual cue befor the ball goes back then there are only a few ways to do it.
