Did usc jr start up the 2001 entrance after they snapped the all time longest NCAA fbs losing streak that year?

Or were they doing that before? Still can't believe they ripped their own goal posts down after beating new mexico state. Didn't know if that w as an all-time high or low.. I was so confused.
That was in the 2000s. The 2000s. Wow. Not 50 fifty years ago, but like 10.

Actually it's called 2001 because it was in the 1968 film 2001: A Space Oddyssey, but the real name of it is Also sprach Zarathustra, and it was composed by Richard Strauss in 1896.

My father in law is a south carolina fan. I can tell you they started the 2001 entrance in 2001. That's how they got the name. It's not hard to understand.

In 80's, there was a bar in 5 points that would play it and a local radio station wnok broadcasted from there and then scar picked it up. I've heard that the bar was owned by Clemson fan or grad...anyone know?

Carolina used 2001 music to enter the field for the first time in 1981. They played the song twice but the PA system was not strong enough to be heard by most people.
The band played it once in the 1982 season but again it did not work as the band was unable to inspire much excitement with the this type of song.
Finally in 1983 USC installed a new sound system and Coach Morrison adopted the music. It has been used every game for the past 31 seasons since the start of the 83 season.

And absolutely no song in the country that a team comes out to was not used in something else first. It's not like songs dedicate a musician to come up with a song for them. Like tiger rag for instance, it was literally found by a school on some sheet music and now several schools use different variations of it. Newtigerera you seem knowledgable about that type stuff, wasn't it originally like a jazz piece? Personally it's kinda catchy to me even if y'all do use it lol

Why would this guy let a little thing like facts get in his way? It's more fun to make up completely useless lies and uninformed BS and pass it off as facts and then swear by it till your dying day while looking like a complete fool.

By older cu grads that back in late 70's early 80's it was a clemson fans bar in 5 points that got the 2001 craze going in Columbia. Radio station broadcasted from the bar for a special event and scar picked it up, the rest as they say is history. Also, was told football players were frequenting 5 points every weekend and would start trouble, the floor manager never called the cops, just their head coach.

One of those older CU grads wouldn't happen to be onederkid's or 74paw's dad, would it? That story sounds like some of their musings.
The story I have heard is that Elvis used to use 2001 as his show entrance music, and that Morrison liked and adopted it for USC.

Half of those schools weren't D1 (or just became D1) during their streak. USC jrs was unaccepptable and you made the whole state look bad. Let's focus on the modern (BCS) era. It's usc jr and duke in class of it's own as worst losers in the 2Ks. Worst, longest... whatever. That's a special club to be in. Congrats.
