Not only is the home field a disadvantage but allowing less fans

Of the visiting team is as well.. as is not making sure their entire Band is invited too.

A Tiger at the Texas game said today he never heard our Pep Band.

Saying, Some changes need to be made or just chalk it up that the visiting teams are not expected or wanted to advance.

That’s literally the point of doing well and having the higher seed.

It’s supposed to be and should be as humanly possible for the opposing team and fanbase.

That our Pep Band Director should be fired long before we go after basketball coaches and football coordinators!

It is so obvious, even a fan like me can see the problem. Go Tigers! Get us a National Championship caliber pep band.

We need that pep band. How is our team supposed to have any pep without them?

In my away games since 50s the Band was a huge addition

To how the fans & even team bonded in an enemy territory and if you’ve heard that Tiger Rag at Norte Dame or UGa or Tam, or Tn in the mid 70’s ..it would make you a fan of a full big bad.

I always liked that the cfp displayed the best teams on a neutral site with odds as even as possible. No bye weeks. It's just more efforts to make collegiate ball into proball. Same reason I hated the implementation of the 2 minute rule. No one else seems to be bothered by the clock stoping after 1st downs only under 2 minutes but it makes comebacks much less likely.

The band does matter because those guys can make noise when the opposing team is on the field.

This is supposed to be a HOME game for the home team. It’s no different than a regular season home game. It’s not a neutral site playoff game. Why are we bitching and moaning?

Because most visiting teams get more than 3500 tickets in regular season big games. You know, like the like the 10,000 tickets Clemson provides to your fellow coots for games in Death Valley.

We don't need a coot commenting on CFP, where no coot has gone.

I heard our pep band on the TV throughout the game last night and heard Clemson fans. However, it was a Texas home game and an advantage. If we were hosting, we would want the same.

You know I have been beating this drum. The visiting team is potentially playing their bowl game/last game. The allotment of 3500 tickets is a joke. The home team is getting home field advantage and not having to travel. I am not saying a 50/50 split but treat it as a bowl game in regards to ticket allotment.

I forgot to add, it is not a true home game. The CFP supposedly had control of the video board and stuff that was played. Can someone from Austin yesterday confirm whether or not Clemson stuff was displayed/played?

Can confirm that only once, during the pregame, they did play a Clemson hype video. It was actually prefaced by a petty funny “warning” message saying something like “the following video may not be appropriate for all audiences and may cause stomach discomfort”, or something along those lines. That was the only thing I noticed that the CFP seemed to force on Texas. Also, I was in section 29 and the pep band was in 32 and I could barely hear them. They would blare something over the PA most of the time anyway. It was a complete Texas home game, and that video before the game was the only hint of anything out of the ordinary that I saw.

I heard Clemson's band plenty on TV yesterday. Anyone that was at the Texas stadium that did not hear them perhaps needs a hearing aid.

Our band needs some new stands music between plays though. They have worn out that "Rage Defense" thing they play and added too much to it from the original version. Sounds too jazzy or cutesy or something now and not intimidating for defensive music like the FSU War Chant. Guess I'm trying to say "Rage Defense" is like Puddin's defense -Soft!

You heard the pep band on TV because there was a TV microphone in front them. I have been to many away games where I could barely hear or not hear at all our pep band but I could hear them well when watching the game recording upon returning home. Having a small pep band in a stadium with 105,000 people does not mean anybody in the stadium should be able to hear them.

Half of the tickets should be awarded to the visiting team. Give so many days for them to be sold and any not sold returned to the host team. It is lop sided for the home team like the committee has made rules that the visitors cannot buy tickets. This is bad.

The one thing I think they should do is mandate that the visiting team get 7,500 tickets. The intent of doing it on campus (aside from it being less expensive) is to give the home team an advantage. I’m fine with that but the non-host should be able to bring some fans.

The simple solution is to play well enough to be ranked in the top 8.

We were lucky to be in that game and it wasn't all because we won, part of it was because Miami lost to a unranked team.

Texas isn't as hospitable as Clemson. That's one of the reasons it's on in the top five of my most hated teams.

We might get the chance to pay them back for that next season, lightbulbbill®.

I don't think Clemson is that low rent but it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

IF we had beat the Coots, then we would have likely hosted the first round. All those with negative thoughts on home field advantage would be singing a different tune!!

I'm not sure where your friend sat in relation to the band, but I could hear them just fine on TV. And the 20 band members at the basketball game did a great job as well.
