I'm not questioning the veracity of the prices.

I'm questioning whether you're being insincere or ignorant regarding WHY gas prices were where they were in 2020, and whether you're crediting Trump or faulting Biden for the world being shut down and crude oil prices being literally inverted.

Ok. Well your post was at least misleading. Prices before 2020 were slightly higher than 2020 and much lower than after 2020. You were obviously trying to downplay the sky hug gas prices under the Biden administration by saying prices were higher before 2020 just like after 2020. Which is true but is not a just comparison. Also, Trump did not shut the country down. He left the decision to the states with advice from medical “experts” such as Dr. Fauci. Democrats were extremely adamant and vocal about shutting down schools, businesses, parks, and any public place that wasn’t essential. Most democrat ran states stayed shut down 3 months longer than red states. So yes your post was wrong and at the very least laughably misleading.

but lets not pretend that President Trump didn't turn his entire administration over to Fauci, because that happened, and it's probably one of the biggest reasons he lost the election.

I remember pretty much everyone was telling him to listen to Fauci. I remember democrats pushing masks and lockdowns. I remember conservatives saying screw the mask and the lockdowns. Maybe we were living in different universes. If Trump had turned over his administration to Fauci, democrats would’ve fallen in love with him. Trump was the one who suggested hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin, just to be ridiculed by the left. Fauci wasn’t pushing for those treatments. Btw they worked and I still don’t understand why they were ridiculed.

So yeah read this article. Trump was against lockdowns . At the end of the article you will see that Fauci was pushing for more lockdowns while Trump was against it.

Amazing the lengths some of you will go to to push some narrative that isn't equally applied.

That article also states that states were responsible for the harsh restrictions not federal government. Take a guess at what states had the harshest restrictions.
It’s blue states.

the US president being 100% responsible for things.
You know if it is implied that a US president is accountable for international oil prices, surely the same position would be accountable for a domestic shutdown.
Weird how it feels when the shoe is on the other foot ain't it?

And that’s all I was pointing out. Biden is partially to blame for inflation, not fully. Inflation affects everything, including gas prices. So some blame does fall on his administration. Certainly not all of it.
