2014- lost to average VT at home. National champions 2015- Bama loses to Ole miss At home and wins a title over us. Do y’all think Coker can win a title but DJ can’t? 2016- Clemson loses to Pitt at home and is written off. Deshaun and co. prove what we all knew. Similar vibe this week than Pitt 2016 2017- Bama wins the title without getting into the SEC title game 2018-?? 2019- Clemson loses to maybe the best offense of all time. Darn 2020- Bama is dominant. It happens.
My point is, besides Alabama 2020 and our 2018, every one of these teams above have gone through struggles and been misjudged by the media, only to go on and win the national title. And teams have looked BAD early. We will fix the problem just like OSU 2014, Bama 2015, US in 2016, Bama in 2017.

We were on the ropes at Texas AM and almost lost at home to a terrible Syracuse team in 2018, wouldn't say no struggles.

A great point. No one was high on Clemson after Syracuse 2018

Was addressing the national champions each year and in 2019 LSU wasn’t arguable as dominant IMO. Clemson was questionable that year

Clemson was 14-0 going into the CFP Title game. The only

consistent element of that game was that LSU was essentially playing a home game. LSU has four national titles, two against Clemson and ALL four were played in New Orleans.

Well, Chase Brice played from the 2nd quarter until the end

due to Trevor being knocked out of the 2018 game with Syracuse. Trevor was back the rest of the year and we became the first team in history to finish the CFP at 15-0.
Most pundits were putting Clemson and Alabama to play in the CFP Title after mid season. As you know, we beat Alabama 44-16 in the title game.

Sure, but after the A&M and Syracuse games there were little to no media memebers picking us. That came about midway in the year when we started to really click, was my point

National media, as usual, is biased in favor of certain leagues and teams. Their incorrect prognostications are based, not on honest predictions, but on fake news. This is why Clemson is written off so early. Still a ways to go. Much can, and often does, happen.

Re: Ohio State .You have no point, IMO. Ohio State is 1-0 in 2021.What happened between 2014 and 2020 has no bearing on what happened last Saturday or how the media will spin it.

Then you’re missing the point. My point is that yearly, the team that wins the national championship is usually written off by the media at some point

Or did you only read the first part, assume I was talking about Ohio state the whole time and write something negative without finishing the whole thing? Sounds about right

No I read the whole thing but now a days if you look at the political landscape it's not politically correct to bring up the past as the narrative changes. So why should football be any different?

The doubt this year is stronger because of how completely inept our offense looked last weekend. When we lost to Pitt, we put 42 on the board. There was no doubt about our offensive skillset.
Against Georgia, we looked awful. It's the first game of the year, so there's no comparison or fallback yet to say it was an anomaly. We have nothing on the schedule the rest of the season that is strong enough to leapfrog teams ahead of us unless they lose, and maybe lose twice.
The doubt is reasonable. I think we will be fine, personally, but the doubt is reasonable.

I agree, the ###### just seems to have flipped. In 2016 it was no way can we stop Bama, now it’s no way we can score it
