Coldest game in Clemson History

Anyone know the official coldest temperature the tigers have played in?
I want to think the Humanitarian Bowl in Idaho would be a good guess. Maybe a game at Maryland in November would have been colder at some period in history. Not sure if there's an official stat on this or not

I recall the band going up to Md in the mid- late 1980s and our morning practice before the game was one of the coldest I can remember.

Boise for the Humiliatarian Bowl was cold. It snowed.
Also, Music City Bowl, part 2, was freezing.

Peach Bowl at the old Arlanta-Fulton stadium in Atlanta against Baylor. It was cloudy and windy and felt like it could snow at any minute. Man, it was cold.

My feet got so cold at that game we left and went back to the hotel to watch the second half. Officially, it probably wasn't the coldest, but it sure felt like it.

Biggest problem that day was that the cold was unexpected.

Clemson fans drove toward Atlanta that morning not being fully cognizant of the fierce cold front rolling in from the other direction.
Most people were woefully unprepared and under-dressed.

stay tuned because if he made the trip to Chestnut Hill to call the game with Don Munson then you will most likely get your answer. As for me personally I would have to say the 1979 Peach Bowl and 1985 Independence Bowl and there are other but those come to mind.

I remember a very cold and windy Thursday night game at Wake a few years ago, seemed like it was blowing 30 knots.

Honestly, Wake Forest last year had a miserable wind chill !

And it didn’t help that the stands were virtually empty of bodies to block the wind, LOL.

Wake game same year we played in Boise was cold and windy. Won 13-5, with Streeter saving the day. When they asked CTB before playing in Boise, he said they were ready , “ we played in Winston-Salem”

1987 SC game in Columbia was around 20°. I don't know about Boise and Shreveport bowl games but I was at the 72 SC and 79 Baylor games and Columbia was the coldest Clemson game I have been to!

Had to be around 1997 or so for my family. Night game in Death Valley against Maryland. Temp in the high 30’s with a 25-30 mph wind. Sat in upper deck and the light poles were swaying. Froze my #### off. We won that game. Also 01/08/17 in Raymond James stadium. It was mostly the wind in Tampa. Being born and raised in Miami it is not supposed to get that cold in Florida. By the way, we won that game too!

My first game vs. UCS in 1972 or Baylor Peach Bowl
Nov 9, 2018, 9:05 PM

I'd go with Baylor because: 1. We lost, badly 2. The wind got into Fulton County Stadium and HOWLED! 3. I didn't have enough money to properly "warm up" in Underground Atlanta afterward.

The 87 USCoots game was the coldest I have been at as a Clemson fan, just by the thermometer, but the coldest feeling game was the 72 USCoots game. It was in the 30's with rain that was almost sleet and a steady wind. The only Clemson-Coot game that had a lot of empty seats at the start of the game. They did not even let the bands on the field, being afraid the field would be in worst condition. Yeah, Jimmy Williamson knocking down a pass on a two point try by the Coots. Nobody was trying field goals.

It was probably not the record, but it was pretty cold (I believe below freezing)...and windy in the upper left corner of the visitor's side upper deck.
