blind, stupid or both.
If anything Kyle Parker is trying too ### hard ...
The results have not been pretty most of the time, but he has laid it all on the line for Clemson this year.
People on here are always talking about what "Clemson Fans Deserve" ...
Well, Kyle Parker "deserves" a little more respect than he's getting right now.
He's probably put more on the line (financially, mentally, and physically)for Clemson football this year that all of T-Net combined.

The kid has had CU hand him everything on a platter, to include a scholarship. Don't make him out like a Medal of Honor winner. He came back, IMO, to try to prove he could play pro ball. I seriously doubt he gave up $900k to have another year of living in the dorms.

Whatever his reasons, he did not have to do it.
He chose to come back to Clemson and play football against almost all rational advice.
And he sure didn't have to play hurt the last few games if he'd decided to hang it up as many here want to imply.
Boyd will get his shot this weekend. If hew produces, I can almost guarantee you that Dabo will use him down the stretch.

To be fair, I think it is a little of both. WRs are coached to find holes in zones and sit down in them. Even when these guys do find this soft spot, they drop the ball a lot.

I'm pretty sure I remember both team mates and fans being mighty happy when they learned that Kyle was returning this year.
He's been struggling and so has the entire team.
If Parker has been guilty of anything, its been trying too hard to make game changing plays by himself.

Absolutely nothing that he has done supports that statement.
Nov 3, 2010, 8:04 PM
|

If he didn't want to get hurt, he wouldn't have come back.
If he wanted to stay clear of further injury, he could have easily told Dabo that he couldn't play as soon as he came off the field at Auburn.
If he was worried about his baseball contract, he could have begged off from playing in the past 4 games.
You're upset because his performance hasn't met pre-season expectations. I'm sure he is too.

Against BC, he had 'minutes' to throw the ball down field,
Nov 3, 2010, 8:18 PM

instead of running, he threw wildass passes across field 'hoping' to make a play. The one time he did tuck it and ran, he gained 12 yds.
Un-excusable the coaching of the WRs, they couldn't get open!!

What has that got to do with Parker giving his all?
Nov 3, 2010, 8:20 PM

Nobody is claiming that he's playing well. He's not.
But he's giving it all he's got and for that he deserves respect, not posts implying that he's scared to get hurt and protecting his baseball situation.

I feel sorry for Parker...cause Swinney is talking out of both sides of his mouth....he is becoming known as the coach who benches good players forever if they mess up in a game!

Can you cite a specific example? Seriously ...
Nov 3, 2010, 8:08 PM
|
|
He gave every returnihg starter ample time (too much in the eyes of most) to come through before benching them.
About the only player who didn't retain his starting position from last year was the kicker and now he's even set to get a do-over.
Again ... do you have an example of a player who messed up in "a game" and was benched forever?

Yeah.....look @ receivers....some haven't played a game since they dropped balls...and the bad part is that the newer receivers are still dropping balls right and left.

The older WRs messed up in multiple games, not just one game. They all had ample opportunity to help the team and didn't produce. They probably shouldn't have started in the first place.

I agree with everyone who says he's not playing particularly well.
But he's still giving it his all.
I will say that I wanted him to go for the sticks on the wide open field to the fiorst down marker late Saturday. That one upset me.
But, still .. all and all, he made the difference in winning and losing a close, hard fought game against a good team.

I think KP was probably pressing, especially in the first half of this past Saturday's game. Sometimes, when you try to too hard to make a play, it's a bad thing. Before that INT, I thought he was playing very well and was probably having his best game since Auburn.
After he finally settled down, he had a good second half. The passing game looked about as good as it has all year. It'll probably only get better if Brown is back this week.

Right. But the initial discussion centered around whether he was giving 100% or not. I don't think anyone would argue that he's playing particularly well.

I'm not saying he isn't giving his all. I'm just saying he isn't playing very smart and sometimes looks like he's played football too much on the x box (rolling out right and throwing across his body). Now that doesn't mean without him we would be undefeated or anything, but I'm not so sure we wouldn't be where we are right now without him.
