back post WWII most Americans paid interest only loans. So owning a home was never going to happen bc principal never went down.
Today's issue is home prices not the interest rate. Those low rates in 2021 to 2022 has caused house prices to soar. I believe a small correction will happen, and it is and will continue, but not "bursting" back to previd prices.
I saw an estimate that ~ 8 to 12% of sub 4% mortgages come off the board per year...so it will take time.
