I know a retired ICE agent. This person is in agreement with closing the border and removing criminal illegal aliens and other illegal aliens swept up when in proximity to the criminal illegal aliens.
However, this person is very unhappy that CBP folks are being used in this process as they are ill suited to this task in the interior of the country and are generally much more heavy handed in their approach than ICE.
Obama removed far more people than Trump and did it in a quiet fashion. It doesn't have to be done in such an in your face manner.
I think most Americans support cutting off the spigot at the border, removing criminal illegal aliens along with removal or some type of penalty for illegal aliens in general, but I do not feel most decent Americans approve of what is going on now.
Brown people who are U.S. citizens shouldn't be pulled over on account of their skin color or feel the need to carry a passport, birth certificate or naturalized citizenship document to get some aggressive eager beaver CBP or ICE agent off their ###."Show me your papers," doesn't have a nice ring.
Guilty until proven innocent shouldn't be a thing in the U.S. nor illegal search and seizure.
Dems if they can keep from eating their own, which is unlikely, are poised to crush the Pubs in 2026 who sit quietly while norm after norm gets stomped in the dirt.

I'm for border security and systematically removing people here illegally. But the careless treatment of American citizens, threats on US cities, and 4th amendment violations is heinous. Hopefully, the the Dems will win the House and 2/3rds of the Senate. We can worry about lesser political problems later, once this abomination is stopped.

The Dems controlling the House is enough. I don't trust the Dems with control of the Senate anymore than I trust Trump.
The Dems with control of both the Senate and the House with a Dem president would cram any and everything down our throats as well.
There are very few competitive seats in the House or the Senate anyways.
It's likely the Dems will take the House and likely the Pubs keep the Senate. That will be enough to rein in DJT.

I don't want it for long, but Congress needs to be able to stop the Executive right now, and I don't trust current Republicans (if that's what they're still calling themselves) to do this.
