There's a guy in cootlumbia that happens to coach dead chickens (spurs up) that blows smoke much better. Cheers to your 4 maybe 5 win season.

All coaches since football began blow smoke about the other team before games and about their team in the off-season but Dabo will be happy to have Parks back for sure.
He’s a leader & good Offense lineman that can play anywhere!

My team was in the playoffs ever so briefly, but Georgia belonged there more than we did. Good luck beating that monster of a team. They’ve got 3rd team guys better than a lot of starters at other programs

Yep, I think that Luke can do enough patch work with the O Line until he can pull the type of O Line guys that he likes into Clemson.

I really thought we'd see a MUCH improved Offensive line this year. But, honestly, many of the same issues that plagued us the last 2 years, were still there again this year.
First order of business: Get everyone healthy (and stay that way).
2nd: We've got to get stronger. Our guys seemed to get pushed around way too much this year. I understood it 2 years ago, we had no depth, experience and were we're young. I'm hoping there is something Matt Luke sees in our strength and condition that can help here.
3rd: We've got to play with better technique (and communication). Obviously, this is where Matt Luke is really going to make hay.
4th: We need to start building some depth. I think one of the biggest issues that has hurt us the last year is we haven't been blowing out mid tier teams like we used to, and we haven't gotten 2nd and third string lineman meaningful snaps/experience. Further, having backups able to play more snaps reduces the likelihood of injuries to first string players. It's win all the way around, and we haven't been able to do that the 2020 season.
5th: Experience. Many of them have gotten tons of experience the last 2 years. Still, there is more to learn. Hopefully, Matt Luke can break bad habits, teach better technique and motivate them to play at a higher level.

Putnam will be drafted this year.
Tate next year.
Parks, IMO, should take his Super Senior season after the 2025 season, at which time (presuming no serious injuries for him) will also be drafted.
Each of these guys are really good. Our Tackles need to play better in psss protection.
(*). Anyone notice that Dabo hinted at problems other than the OL for the team’s blocking woes?
Look no further than our sieve like TE unit. Other than Sage Ennis, these guys didn’t block a feather. On the game winning TD run against KY by Mafah, we’ve all read how Briningstool helped the effort by pulling Mafah into the end zone. This act by Briningstool was a penalty; we were incredibly lucky that it wasn’t called. Any curiosity about why Briningstool was in position to pull Mafah into the end zone? Because he whiffed in his millionth attempted block attempt for the season.
This guy simply must improve on his blocking. His receiving skills and speed are without question top notch. But TE’s have got to block.
Our RB’s are, at best, average blockers. Dominique Thomas was the only guy among the 3 RBs that got any PT who showed enough to be called a good blocker. Mafah blocks well if he can get his feet right to make straight on contact with a blitzing LB or Safety. Shipley has developed into an OK blocker after being horrible blocker in 2021 and just bad blocker in 2022; he gets in position well, but still gets creamed when straight on contact with a defender occurs.
Each of OL, TE, and RB units simply MUST get better at blocking if our offense is to ascend to middle of the pack status.

Exactly correct re Briningstool’s last block. He looked at his man and didn’t touch him. That defender then reached for Mafah at the goal line.

Very accurate analysis. As good as Brinningstool is at catching the ball he is terrible at blocking. Some would call him soft. Thanks for your “analysis”, it was spot on.

Those boys were on skates Friday night! They were pushed all around out there! I hope Luke toughens those boys up and has them playing better next season. I only saw 1 sack that was on Cade, the rest were on the OL getting beat like a 14 yr old boy with a dirty magazine! Here's to hoping Luke whips them into shape bc they have the hardest test of the season the very first game. Go Tigers

2 of our starters were out that game- probably the best 2 Olinemen we have didn’t play. Our LOT and ROT are back with more experience. We will have to replace the Center. I think next year’s OL makes a HUGE step forward.

more than 15 on that room like all our top peers. 15 is too low to account for guys that don't pan out, transfers, injuries, etc.........mimic what BAMA, UGA does..... We are left shorthanded way too much. NO REASON why CLEM shouldn't have an OL like our peers. Just gotta to commit to it. We do so on the DL

I agree entirely regarding your OL comments.
Finding / developing Putnam’s replacement at Center is Job #1 if overall OL unit performance is to achieve its legitimately good potential.

Save yourself a little work and just type LT and RT. Football guys know what you mean and if someone doesn’t they won’t add to the conversation anyway. Yes, next year should see an improvement up front because experience is so vital. Plus, improvement in coaching

The starting online this year is not a lock to start next year. Thinking just because you have upper class man seniority or have started in the past will not get your name written in stone. I’m sure Luke will have open battle for every spot and it will be earned not given.

Statistically, you are playing with fire (injuries, guys that dont pan out, etc...). 15 is too low. Look at what your peers are doing. Look at our results.

Either Dabo thinks like a snake oil salesman sometimes or he thinks football fans are stupid. The Olineman currently on the roster are terrible! They move like they have cement blocks on their feet and when they go up against top SEC teams (UGA in 2021, Tennessee in 2022, Kentucky in 2023) they are thrown around like rag dolls. May be time to sit with Coach Luke and review the recruiting profile for future OLine prospects. Clemson need Oline prospects who are more athletic, faster and stronger. Speed & athleticism are things you can't coach. So please Dabo stop with the BS Coach speak. Just say...We are looking to improve an Oline play and I feel Coach Luke is the right man to do this. Stop telling fans this group of tomato cans are good. Right now they are horrible.

@rhettfla...it's not that people think they know more than Dabo or the coaches about the OLineman, it's just that for the past 2 seasons we have seen Clemson QB's running for their lives, getting sacked repeatedly, watched the Olineman get bull rushed and knocked on their butts or speed rushed as they stand still like the statue of liberty. We've all seen on 3rd or 4th and 1 watch as Clemson OLineman are knocked backwards. So it's not about knowing more than the coaches but after a while what do you believe.....Dabo's coach speak or your lying eyes?

At least one post details everything that needs to be done different from strength and conditioning to technique to how many linemen we carry on the roster.
Yea, they definitely think they know better than Dabo what needs to be done.

Dabo is going to support the OL regardless..... what is very telling about how he thinks they will do next year is: 1) He needed to go get a huge OL coaching hire (which he hit it out of the park) 2) Get talent through the portal (0-4 thus far on OL portal offers).
So... Dabo is saying what he has to be saying, but for Clemson to so aggressively go after transfer portal talent, it says all I need to know about his confidence of serious improvement on the OL.
We will be fine... it will all work out, but I don't envision a "dominant" OL. Luke will get every inch he can out of this group next year. Hopefully, our improvement at WR and some growth with Cade will be what we need to be in the conversation for one of the 12 teams.
Go Tigers !!!

If only our coaches would just listen to all the expert coaches on T-Net, we would probably be undefeated year in and year out.
Hopefully someone will get our Head Coach and O-line coach in touch with some of the highly sought after coaches here on T-Net with their full expertise. If they do we will "build that wall" around our QB..... I'm sure we probably have a highly sought after QB coach on T-Net as well. Let's hope Riley can connect up soon and let's get things turned around.
Clemson is in a good place.... If Dabo hasn't proven himself by now to people, he never will.
Let's go win in 2024

It's funny how so many of you criticize people for making comments and then ignore when he does what they say needs to be done.
Dabo made 2 coaching changes and we have made a considerably harder push in the portal. These are things that people were criticized for saying needed to be done by a lot of you. So what changed that others were wrong about the comments that these things should have been done sooner?
It's also interesting that a lot of TV's "experts" will say that Dabo needs to do a lot of the things that are parroted on here. I know before you tell me that Dabo has 2 National Championships and they don't, but they have been just as close the last 3 years. And if we stand pat on what we have now, then we are getting our butts kicked by Georgia and you can make it 4 years.
I DON'T know what needs to be done, so don't act like I said that I did. However, I do know that what has been done so far isn't enough.
