There is an art to getting off a block to make a tackle. We have had a boatload of LB's at Clemson that were highly touted or recognized but were not very good a shedding blocks. Best two by far we have ever had were Keith Adams and Anthony Simmons. At times they seemed unblockable. That's how Adams had 27 tackles in his final game against USC. Fast forward to now. Sammy Brown can shed a block better than anyone we have. He's not in the same zip code as Adams or Simmons but in time I'm sure he will get better. Yeah, he needs to be on the field. Pick the postion. He can help most at LB but he's a big step up from one of our starting D ends as listed on the depth chart. Do what you need to do to get the best 11 on the field.

Coaching staff will ruin him by next season. His numbers will drop and he'll play timid. I wish this staff would leave well enough alone with some of these 5 star recruits. Let the guy play from instinct. Obviously he doesn't need their elementary coaching.

Too bad he has a coach that has never played a down of organized football coaching him. Hope that he gets better and not that he starts regressing like some others we've had at LB due to coaching.
