I do. I assumed he would go to the NFL. I could be wrong, but to me this feels like they realized that Arch isn't ready to live up to the hype so they had to convince Ewers to stay: Presumably with a nice NIL package.

he is taking a big gamble that Sark doesn't play Manning to keep from losing him. If Manning stays, there will almost certainly be some kind of split time arrangement, kind of like Florida had in Tebow's freshman year.

but I haven't seen any indication yet that Manning is good enough to start at Texas. Ewers isn't quite elite yet and wants to improve his draft stock.
