Notes from My Lunch Break Today
Oct 16, 2017, 1:03 PM
|
|
So I left the plant and went to Great Clips. The wife has been bugging me about getting my hair cut for a while, so I finally gave in. $11 + $2 tip. Not bad. The stylist wasn't much to look at, but we had a good conversation about the state fair.
I walked next door to a new Taco Bell. I ordered the Double-Dillo (steak). It came with a side of chips and cheese. I ordered an ice water. The cashier told me that I could fill my cup up with whatever drink I wanted. I thought that was nice of him. Since I'm trying to eat healthy, I went with Sierra Mist. Since the weather is nice, I ate outside. As far as I can tell, a "Double-Dillo" is just a regular quesadilla.
All in all, it was a good lunch break.
How was everybody else's?

This is gonna be a catch 22 post for some people......

They'll want to make a UDP post about going to Great Clips, but then to do so they'll be forced to admit that they were SAE's at Clemson who go to "salons" for their $40 haircuts, so ultimately they'll decide to just sit quietly on their critique, lest it come back to haunt them.
In other news, I replied to your mange board tag, thanks.

SheGUAR doesn't really dig the "I sat in the bathtub and went to town with the 3 guard" cut I'd give myself, so I frequent the local Great Clips. I've asked around for a good old-school barber, but either got no real answer, or got directed to some sketchy(er than Great Clips) place...
I admittedly have wanted to try one of these (hipstery) places that gives you a cut/beard trim/whiskey/reacharound just to see what the fuss is, and the de-UDP my coiffure with a $50 haircut...but haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet

My lunches are usually pretty bm-like
Oct 16, 2017, 1:07 PM

I heated up left-over spaghetti and meatballs and consumed it at my desk while browsing the jounge. Then I walked down 5 flights of stairs and around the building. Instead of taking the stairs back up, I took the easy route and rode the elevator.
I hate this place.

I also got a haircut and discussed the State Fair with my hairdresser. I also got Taco Bell, but just the normal quesadilla because they stopped making the Double-Dilla in lieu of the Fried Chicken Quesadilla.

Woah.
What if we both met at Taco Bell or Great Clips and realized that we were twins? We could switch places and spend the rest of the movie trying to get our parents back together!

I don't know where my clothes come from. Usually my family gives them to me at Christmas time. I assume they come from nice stores, but who knows.
One year, I was feeling extra cheap, so I bought my brother a Clemson polo shirt from Kmart. It was one of those dry-fit looking shifts. Not bad at all. Bro really liked it... but a week later he asked me where I got it because it was too big for him. I told him Kmart and he lol'd and said, "no, seriously?". Again, I told him, "Kmart". He paused and said "eff it, its a nice shirt... you cheap b*stard."

Two Great grandfathers (and most of the fathers before them) were barbers in my family, and I have a great uncle who was the White House barber for Nixon thru GHB. Sort of runs in the blood to be inclined towards those places I suppose.
Used enjoy going to the Laurens Rd barber shop when I was in Greenville....couple of those old guys used to actually work with my great grandfather back in the day and could tell some fantastic stories, but last I heard they stopped working in the past year or so.

I will give you a point, however that Sierra Mist at 20oz is 240 calories. Those are empty calories by the way.
The doubledilla is 850 calories with 2,030 mg of sodium (90% of your daily value), but that is with salsa, not cheese, so probably tack on another 50-100 calories and a good 500 more mg's of sodium.
By just a quick research you consumed over a 1,100 calories, consumed all your sodium intake at lunch while trying to be healthy. Look man I get it, its hard and they make it seem healthier than what it is, but this is the problem with America.
Now if you go out and run 6.5 miles or do hard lifting with cardio for 2.5 hours, you will have worked off that lunch.
Go get em' Tiger!!

went to gym cause rainy, hit treadmill for 3 and some change. Quick change of clothes and go to a noonish meeting on a jobsite, suffer through that until 1:30, drive to the office and eat leftover vegetable soup, brogurt, cheez-its, and an apple while browsing the Jounge.

I lifted pretty heavy yesterday so today was mostly stretching out my legs and recovering from that.
After that I went to Bilo and bought some ready made hard boiled eggs and granola bars. I ate all six eggs and a granola bar for lunch and the rest of the granola bars are stashed in my desk to be consumed as breakfast for the next few weeks.

It takes too long to get a good workout in. You need at least an hour and a half or two hours for it to really be worth your while. Also, the Y over here doesn't have a pool.
