Does CV push CK next season?

Everything I've seen about Vizzina looks great (I know it was against high school competition) but everything I'm hearing from the coaches is also good for CV.
Do you guys think if Cade is still trigger happy next season we see CV push for playing time?
Side note I believe in Cade and think that he is a heck of an athlete. But I also believe in healthy competition. I believe that's what has been lacking the last few years in the QB room.

Interested to know what you're hearing from coaches because I've not heard anything for me to think CV is ready at all to step on the field.

This - if anything, I've read in a couple of posts that CV hasn't progressed as well as they'd like this year. I'd love to see some different news or reports if anyone has anything.

Dabo said he's big and strong with a year of mental prep under his belt but he can make all the throws. I'm interested to see how he pans out this spring.

Seems like that would be a big jump considering he didnt throw a pass this season... but hopefully they have a good relationship that is both competitive and respectful.

Not at Clemson. This is a “wait your turn” school when it comes to QBs.

Push??? What is needed is a QB to push both of them to the bench or the transfer portal. The coach speak about how good these guys are is old and used up. The on field performance of CK and the lack on field time by CV (because he can't beat out CK) tells us everything. Going to the portal and getting a QB has been proven to be successful throughout college football, no not in every case , but in a lot of cases. Over the years we have seen having a roster of overall 4 & 5 star talent (like UGA & Bama) or superior QB play (like Clemson & LSU) are what is needed to win CFB championships. Right now the QBs at Clemson just can't cut it.

I doubt it. Dabo already said of Cade “he’s our guy”

but the Hood comment awhile back about his alleged lack of development were pretty concerning.

Uncle Paul balls out in the Spring?
Put super pressure in the QB room.

I’m more concerned about them getting him dialed in as a good back up if Cade goes down and us not see much drop off.

He just reminds me of another Hunter Johnson, highly rated out of high school, but doesn't seem ready to be that guy in college. Maybe I'm wrong, but we'll see over the Spring. We seem to be missing on that "IT" factor at QB here lately, when they have it....you know it early. Like we saw with DW and Trevor.

I am afraid CV may not be ready for football at this level. I hope I’m wrong and I’ll happily eat crow. I see him more as a QB for Ga State or Furman

No, for two reasons:

1. The coaches have already decided that Cade is the starter and there will not be a QB competition.
2. Vizzina was supposedly behind where the coaches thought he would be and is not close to being starter material right now.

Not unless he makes a big jump in the spring and summer

He is much further behind than the coaches had hoped. He was always a developmental guy with a high upside, he got his ranking from the camp circuit and that potential not from his high school performance, which was average at best vs bad competition.

But I think he could be ready to be a starter his sophomore year. Hoping CV has the proverbial light turn on this off-season though.
