what the heck is going on with him? He has been nonexistent this season. He isn’t performing anywhere near what he did last year.

Would you allow a friendly amendment to your question and include Peter Woods?

Mid-season marriage suggests football not the top priority this go round.

They both need a knock. Way below their potential and for Parker his former performances. I hope they break out soon. They can be difference makers.

A bit late for them to "break out" now.

The problem is our coaches refuse to put them on the bench so they continue to start and give little effort

Bingo!!!! Not holding ALL players accountable for their performance causes multiple team issues!! That may be the root of the problem with this team?? Only the players know, but something is amiss under the surface…..

Woods does his job, plugging up the inside rushing lanes, and does it well, Lawson has been stealing a ton of minutes from Parker.

Great DT's don't simply fill the rushing Lanes they have several plays where they reset the line of scrimmage, make tackles for losses, and sacks. We've had plenty of great defensive tackles over the past few decades. Woods is not in the top 10.

DT play, an anecdote your post reminded me of.

Back in the 90s when FSU was on it's 14 year run, the DL coach was Odell Haggins. (He's still coaching DL today.) He played DT in the 1980s. One of his players told this story.
"He never accepts excuses. When you say, 'I was double-teamed' he just says, 'that's why the Lord gave you two arms. You push one aside with you left and the other aside with your right' and then he's pop in a film showing him doing exactly that. And when you would say, 'I was held' he would say, 'That's a personal problem.' The message was clear, no excuses. Do your job."

looks like he may have added 2 much weight he's trying but it may be a fatigue thing just my two cents.

It almost seems that he only has one type of pass rush style, and offensive

tackles have figured out how to counter that style. The great DE's vary their approach from game to game, or even play to play.
It has taken awhile, but finally the pro scouts are noticing that Parker AND Peter Woods are not putting out much effort this year, and it is beginning to impact their draft stock. Maybe seeing that in print, and realizing that they are hurting their future earnings, may finally light a competitive fire under that duo. Nothing the coaches have said appears to be able to do it anymore.
