Get on here and start trying to score cheap political points or blame a party or make it a transgender issue or play "my nutjobs aren't as bad as your nutjobs" after some children lost their lives. There's only one person (and no things or ideologies or identities) to blame for the shooting, and if you don't get that, well, I'd say it's time for some self-reflection but we know you're probably beyond that.
We're probably just a few days away from CharlestonTom and SOLOs getting on here to claim the shooting wasn't real and that it's a government conspiracy.
What an embarrassment to our university.

It's all too predictable. If the shooter is a right wing nut, they're attacked by the left. If the shooter is a left wing nut, they're attacked by the right. In all of this, nearly everyone, in a bipartisan manner, misses the real problem.

I don’t recall many, you included, not acknowledging that some extreme white supremacist ideology played a part in incidents like the Dylan Roof shooting. And why would you? It was worth acknowledging.
Now we have a trans person committing mass murder amongst a trans climate of “days of vengeance” (their term, not mine) around the country, and hyperbolic claims that there is a trans “genocide” occurring while being encouraged to take up arms.
Sure, she’s the biggest problem here, but why be so quick to dismiss ideology?

attacks on his humanity, dignity, and being by parishioners at Mother Emanuel AME. Exactly the opposite. They embraced him in the love of God.
Here, we have a troubled soul who was apparently not surrounded by love at the "Christian" school she attended.
Obviously no excuse for these murders but had she been treated with love and kindness instead of hate and rebuke we might be in a different place now.

Given that the shooter had attended the school, I think it is far more likely the actions sprung from something relating to the experience at the school. (Hopefully we will find out what was in the note.)
While I can certainly appreciate that the trans-community is (collectively) exasperated by the anti-trans hysteria gripping the far right, I think this is far less likely to be a "political statement" than an act of personal nature. But I also (without in any way letting the shooter off the hook for the heinous action) think it is strange that people on the right can support the oppression of the trans-community but then will throw up their hands and say "what are they so angry about?" They seem to be (whether it is a motivator in this case or not) blaming the oppressed for not liking the oppression.
I don't recall where the e-flyer that you posted came from, but one flyer for one event that we don't even know if the shooter was aware of does not mean much to me. We're not seeing marauding trannies in the streets. You seem to me making it sound as if one flyer collectively represents the views of all trans people. It isn't "their" term but the term of one person who created a flyer.
(And I am mightily trying to avoid bringing Trump into this, but as a matter of comparison... Trump spends years stoking rage and people on the right deny his incitement, but you use one flyer to float the possibility that the trans community is responsible? You can do better.)

Roof's ideology led to his sick justification of his actions, but it didn't cause his actions. Our world is filled with millions of racists who don't want to murder people. At the end of the day, Roof's actions are solely on him.
No, transgenderism isn't any cause to this shooting, and yes, y'all's discussion of it in SOLO's thread is embarrassing at best.

The fact is left wing rhetoric is making millions of people's lives pure misery because these people are being told life is UNFAIR to them and they DESERVE this or that to make it right. The shooter was trans and this was a religious school. I think that's worth noting and discussing. Same as if when we've had shooters with racial motivations and so on.
As long as the discussion stays away from "all trans people are xxxxx" then I think it's worthy of discussion and noting.
And it still (likely) fits one of the main issues in school/mass shootings, which is being an outcast, bullied, mental issues, etc...

That people shouldn't be rushing to point a bunch of political fingers and blame everything and everyone under the sun for a tragedy that isn't 24 hours old.
And even if we are going to entertain this, that's a massive early jump to a conclusion, especially since the shooter is a former student; it's far more likely this was personally motivated.
As long as the discussion stays away from "all trans people are xxxxx" then I think it's worthy of discussion and noting.
And you know that's where they're heading with this. IMO, it's just as ridiculous as the people who blame guns right away.
