I heard someone say

Oct 27, 2022, 8:16 AM

That the tigers have struggled to play consistent complimentary football this season. I thought immediately how absurd?

Maybe I'm wrong but when the offense has been down the defense has bailed them out and when the defense has been down the offense has picked them up. Call me crazy but that sounds like pretty consistent complimentary football.

Not only that,

Dabo always has something nice to say about the opponents.

Or picking the other side up when one side is struggling. Like great teams do.

There is no or. The term has one meaning.***

Or in this aspect that I used it was a polite way of saying that you're wrong.

Lol, ok, expect you’re the one that is lost.***

When our D gave up 35 points to SCAR but our O scored 55

... the consensus on TNet seemed to be that it “felt like a loss”.

Our O picked up our D that night, but almost no one was calling it “complimentary football”.

Complementary football: means that each of the three phases of the game offense, defense and special teams are don’t operate in a vacuum but as a tapestry of sorts. Each phase is intertwined with the next- playing off each other to create a final product.

What they mean is that Clemson doesn't beat everyone

Oct 27, 2022, 8:21 AM

47-0 ...

So they must not be good.

Did just that.

Honestly I don’t like the games being so close but it does make me stay more interested in the game.

I thought complimentary football was yet another term created to make the talking heads look smarter than they actually are?

Clemson is 8-0 right now so I would not say they are playing bad football. They have beaten 3 teams in the top 25. The only team to have done that in the top 25. Has it been pretty at times, No. But they have gotten it done and found ways to win. Other teams have looked good at times but bad at times. Ohio St. struggled with Notre Dame. Georgia with Mizzou. Tennessee beat Alabama and it took 17 penalties and a last second field goal to do that. So I have not seen some dominant team on the field this year by any team.

I also think TCU has accomplished that, too, but have actually beaten 4 (OU, Okla State, K State and KS). And their wins have been somewhat ugly, as well. And they’re getting even less recognition or props than us. Not to mention, the consensus is “they will eventually lose”.

Otherwise, I agree and your post is spot on!.

GO TIGERS!!!!

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Keep in mind, FSU is a better team than their record too***
