It's time to see LATEEK TOWNSEND get some serious playing time.

When I look at our roster, the youth on 2012's team, I think we'll have a d-line next year capable of pushing offensive lines around (DJ Reader looked like a beast against LSU). That's gonna free up our linebackers more to wreak havoc, and that's the business Townsend is in. His nasty mentality mixed with Shuey's toughness/consistency at MLB could be key. And then there's Tony Steward...

LB competition is going to be intense this spring

Lateek, like Anthony and Steward have to earn the right to play. They didn't do that this year. But we look to have excellent talent and depth at the position:

SAM: Christian, Lateek, Parker
MIKE: Shuey, Jones, Goodson
WILL: Anthony, Steward, Burrell

Could see several guys moving around to get the best 3 on the field. Could also see Lateek get a look at SS, if he can handle the assignments. Athletically, he and Blanks would be amazing on the back end of the defense

What has lateek done to prove he deserves PT? He doesnt know the playbook and when he's been put in I've seen him be berated by venables for not doing the right thing.
