The defense has been very good for much of the season. Keeping us in games when the offense has struggled significantly.

The defense didn't play good enough to win today. Giving up the long third down conversion at the end of the half, eventually leading to another FG was problematic. Not being able to get off the field with a stop the last 6:30 or so of the game was problematic. There are always going to be some missed tackles or plays that could have been made....don't expect them to be perfect....but recognize that plays like that cost the team. Clemson wasn't the best team on the field today, and the score board reflects that.

SMU's defense could key in on Randall, knowing that Vizzina couldn't beat them with his legs. Their weakness was in the secondary anyway, there should have been more deep shots than we got.

I agree our run game was poor, but it is obvious that Vizzina is a pocket passer. We tried to make him something he isn't.

a run game, but our defense sux. 1 sack, give up 6 plays of 20+ yards? Game on the line after offense gets that last TD and they folded like a house of cards.

Because our defense allowed us to be outscored, I think that's pretty elementary. The offense wasn't great but the defense let them keep putting points up on us when we might have been able to get back in the game.
