Only thing comparable is their personality. Both very calm at all times and beloved by teammates. Playstyles are completely opposite.

They are very alike. The strengths of both is their running either for short yardage or scrambling. Hurts didn’t really become an elite passer until Oklahoma, so the idea is that DJ may do the same passing as he is elsewhere.

Let me put it another way. Hurts is the starting QB for a super bowl contender. DJ can’t throw a 5-yard screen pass without half of Tiger Nation holding our breath that it’s not a pick-6.

I say again, Hurts was maybe just a little better a passer at Bama. It was mainly the reason he was benched for Tua. This is the main point here.

There is some similarity. Both have a "5" in their 40 time. Jalen runs 4.5 and DJ runs 5.0. I think all similarity ends there, including arm strength.

I seem to remember Hurts getting Bama to a national title game. No way in hell DJ could ever come close to that. The cheese it bowl was his pinnacle
