Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday night, a couple of beers at The Pub and What Ales You. This place is close to Furman and not a bad joint,
Saturday, spread the rest of the mulch that I had, didn't buy enough. Went and bought a couple of small plants, then watched a disappointing baseball game.
Sunday, put the plants in the ground, watched a more exciting but also disappointing baseball game. I think the pitching just ran out of gas. Still a pretty good baseball season and something to build on.

Quite foody...Kid of brought home a box of Chesapeake oysters Friday, prolly 7-8 dozen, so we grilled, steamed and half shelled our way through the weekend. Threw is a filet and grilled romaine salad sattidy and some baby backs lass nite. I'm quite full.
9/10 (17.1/19 on the RH Covids scale) including a deduction for poor umpiring at DKS.
DID DUE A GIN!

Friday cookout with J & the dogs
Saturday up early to work a table at the Lake Blalock Paddle Blast - pretty cool event, hope it becomes an annual thing Got home to see the umpires start their foreplay with an uneven strike zone Fixed pizza on the woodfire
Sunday missed much of the fiasco in DKS because I was at the celebration of life for my good friend and boss. As it always is at these things it was great to see folks that I hadn’t in a long time and it was nice to see him honored by so many but it was a sad occasion. Got home just in time to see JL & EB tossed.
What a total cluster buggery

Fri - more dance recital. Did her two jazz numbers. Second year for jazz and she did very well. Mom came and had a great time watching.
Sat - Took little one to Grumpy's for some da>mn good wings. Went to the new brewery and met some friends. Was a good time
Sun - Mellow Mushroom for a couple beers and baseball/golf. Went next door for bingo. Skunked again.

Friday: drove up to NC to pick up my daughter who is working a camp this summer to bring her home for the weekend. Had a nice time with her
Saturday: slept until 9, got up worked in the yard until it was too hot. PLayed with the pups, watched baseball, ordered takeout for supper and chilled.
Sunday: more of the same, wife took daughter back to camp, I went shopping for groceries, and watched Clemson baseball for about five hours. NIce game, hate to see the way it ended, though. Watched basketball and regreting staying up that late now.

Friday, hung out at the lake with the pup until after 7:00, walked home and made a pizza and watched wrestling.
Saturday, lots of chores, grocery run, had our 120th quarterly supper club Saturday night. Always a great time, food was good and the fellowship even better.
Sunday, long hike with the pup, finally got to watch the Richard Linklater film Everybody Wants Some. Not as good as Dazed and Confused, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Late afternoon went to the Thirsty Beaver to see The Waymores. Had a great time but left a little early because a big storm was bearing down and we had to park a fair distance away.
Did not watch any baseball (it was on the TV at The Beaver) but kept up with the scores. Oh well...still better than preseason expectations, I guess.
19/19 Covids.

Friday ordered new dishwasher because the lowes outlet didn't have any decent options. Went with the Bosch (thanks lunge for yer input, I only ignored some of it). Friday afternoon went to remove old one and of course it went not quite according to plan. Shut-off valve for the DW supply line didn't shut off, so had to turn off hot water to the house. Also DW was direct wired in (no plug) and for some reason they barely left any extra romex so had to just cut the romex because couldn't pull out DW far enough to get to connection.
Anyway, ate a pizza and chilled on the patio, went to bed at a reasonable hour
Saturday got up early and assessed hot water sitch. Realized best bet would be to replace guts for faulty shutoff valve, and managed to find parts to do that at HD. So went and got parts, fixed valve and hot water back on. About this time Lowes showed up and delivered new DW. Started unpacking and reading instructions(!) and realized I needed to install outlet under cabinet instead of direct wiring like the old one, and also needed an extension kit for the drain hose.
But not today, we are going to ATL to see Tyler Childers. We had a nice tailgate before and did a little pre-gaming. Was at amphitheater so kinda hot, but managed to get decent lawn seats and had a good old time. Wife got entertainingly drunk but started no fights. GREAT show, Tyler really put on a good one for us. Long drive home and got back to upstate way after my bedtime but totally worth it.
Sunday work up and made some breakfust, then went to HD to get a new junction box to install outlet under cabinet. All I needed was the box, and the one I found that fit was 44 cents. Total checkout at Home Depot: 47 cents. A record never to be broken. Came home, installed box and wired outlet, that part done. Did some yardwork and watched madcap umpiring comedy. Fired up the grill and had a drink, then a nice dinner. Afterwards watched some baby reindeer. Weird stuff.
Overall good weekend. I laughed, I cried, I ate pretty well. 14 stars out of 9.

when a bad storm hit our 'beach'/golf course house - wife is there - power out, winds took out the top of the tallest tree between us and the course - shame it was a beauty. Nothing hit our house, and the live oak in our front yard is fine (live oaks are not tall but wide, and I have cables in it for support.)
Wife is fine, grandkids are coming so she gets to do yard work cleanup today.
Looks like some made it to the golf course.

and power was out for 8 hours in our area. SC reported about 5,000 houses. Will be interested to see if there was any type of 'twister' or was this just wind bursts.

14U Volleyball tourney in Myrtle Beach

Won two, lost one on Saturday, second in pool. Late games, left MB for Wilmington by 10:00 PM
Gold bracket on Sunday, games start at 8:00 AM so left ILM at 5:30. Lost game one to crosstown "rivals" in three sets (they ended up second overall). Then played the team that beat us on Saturday and won set 1 by alot, fell apart and lost last two sets. Very tense weekend.
Drove home and couldn't bring myself to watch Clemson, had enough sports stress for the weekend.
Daughter just turned 13 three months ago and moved up to practice with 14U AAU team but not play games with them. They ended up needing her for this tourney and she stepped up and played really well. Travel Volleyball is over until like November or something, I think, practices probably start before then though.

I didn't think Volleyball was too excessive, the soccer + volleyball was tough, especially when the soccer was at different places for the same club. New team doesn't do that.

Watched both baseball games mostly in the pool because it was so blazing hot
10 year old daughter still loves to swim with Dad. Prolly won't last much longer
We need better pitching, but at least our Coach don't take no junk
