If I'm an AD in the Southeast with an opening at my school, I would definitely give Coach Hammond a look. His team was good from top to bottom. He is a proven winner at the limited stops he been. Hes obviously an elite hitting coach. He was very impressive during all of his mid game interviews. He exudes a lot of Dabo / Bakich vibes. ECU, Coastal, or USuC may want to at least make a call.

Coots are not hiring Hammond. Look for Monte to be permanent soon.***

I think Hammond is a better fit at ECU with his NC ties, but I would think Godwin has his replacement already picked and on staff. Probably the same for Gilmore at Coastal.

Their fans are already frustrated with him. Their baseball trajectory is frankly inexcusable considering where the program was after they won the two titles. They will want either a big name or someone with deep ties to the university/area like Landon Powell, not someone who was already a failure at another big name baseball program.

I agree. Coastal would be a good next stop for him. Lots of young talent on that ballclub.

I think Godwin from ECU or Pollard from Duke would both sense.

I mean, Duke doesn't even know they have a baseball field on campus but they still win games.

ADs know what they are doing and a low level coach does not usually make a huge jump.

Tanner should go back to coaching at Chicken 🍗 U!
He could make more money but I don’t think he would be ready for the NIL with nothing else to sell in cootlumbia!
