The perfect storm happened for FSU to not get in. They clearly are not the same team without Jordan Travis. More teams will get in next year so won’t be an issue but when the teams were announced I said “ they got it right”.

You are full of it. Bama was #8 going into that game and got smoked by Texas. FSU was undefeated and conference champs. Alabama should not be in. I hope Michigan destroys them!

Well... If Michigan's previous playoff history and modern era record against the SEC is any indication - Michigan will be extremely lucky to get a one point win against 'Bama much less destroying them...

I don't think FSU could have done anything in that game that would have made a difference, absent Travis being miraculously healed. It's clear now that the SEC conference champion was never going to get left out .

To be fair, the lie/reason the Committee gave for putting Bama ahead of FSU should have resulted in them dropping out of the top 6, at least. But they didn’t so it’s obvious their mission was just to get an SEC team in. Period.

The committee didn't possibly mess up last year either after TCU got in after losing the Big 12 Championship game to KState. TCU the team that ended up getting throttled by UGA 65-7.

If they finally admit this is a college football invitational tournament (not a playoff) based on what the committee thinks will happened not what has happened, then Alabama makes sense in place of FSU.

The "SEC is great" is a religious faith amongst college football punditry.
Objectively I think the SEC should have been odd man out this year. Aubie owes all of college football an apology for letting them off the hook, again.

This issue is bigger than FSUs QB situation or offense ineptitude. The committee essentially set the precedent that an undefeated ACC championship is a second tier conference. Clemson's schedule changes little from year to year, if we go undefeated the precednt has been set for us to continuously be a seeded lower than our competitors. Even in a 12 team playoff seeding matters. Until Clemson can find a way of the ACC (which is nothing more than rumors and hope), we are regarded as little better than a Group of 5 member. I seem to remember the score on the board counts for more than hypothetical matchups. Alabama was all but out of the playoffs until they converted a 4 and like 31 last second play at Auburn. What if FSU knocked their opponents QB out of the playoff game? What if their 2nd stringer went off and proved everyone wrong? Football is a finicky sport. To not give an undefeated team a chance is both a travesty for FSU and a negative for Clemson moving forward.
