Our laws govern every single one of the 10 Commandments.
It's illegal to murder, to steal, and to bear false witness.
Our laws specifically grant the right to have other gods before Yahweh and worship false idols (like Yahweh).
Adultery is grounds for divorce, and parents have custodial rights over children.
Why is it such lunacy that the laws would also govern who can get married, a topic not covered in the Big Ten?

Nope, it was you. Here's the subthread in a nutshell.
1) I said our laws govern stuff from the Ten Commandments. <-- this was my original point.
2) You said yes but "the SCOTUS just said that legislatures don't hold the power to govern who gets married. The law's they created are moot now." <-- this was your counterargument
3) Then I pointed out that the same is true for other laws too, such as laws respecting religion. <-- this point directly addresses your counterargument.
4) Then you pretend the original point never existed, and started arguing about which laws are in the Constitution. <-- this is your argument shifting, because you're no longer addressing (1) above.

Those defending traditional marriage weren't making arguments in front of SCOTUS based on "religious dogma." All you'd have to do to inform yourself is go read the dissent, but most people won't because it's easier to dismiss traditional marriage if you just ignore all that and believe it's all about religion.

Everybody understands the true origin of the opposition to gay marriage. Fortunately, the majority did not buy the charade.
