I hope they do bring it back. I was offered a wrestling scholarship to Anderson University when I graduated high school in 2005. Would have went to Clemson without hesitation if they still had it. I wrestled in the 140-145 class.

I hope they bring it back! That is one of the reasons I ended up at Clemson, but was dropped my final year. We had a National Champion in my weight class, he was junior my freshman yr. I lifted weights and worked out with the team my freshman yr, but hit a big growth spurt. Went from the 132-138 range to 176lbs with only 7% body fat by start of sophomore year. Didn't need anyone in that 165-172 range. So I started chasing girls instead of guys in tights. I know there was a huge increase in talent from HS to college.
Please bring it back! I went to National championship a few yrs ago in Iowa City and it got my blood pumping still today!

Off season training for Line-men on BOTH sides of the ball!!! It really teaches Leverage and strengthens muscle that are not always thought about.

So when we gave up the wrestling program in the 90’s we had to vacate our championships? I got the confuse.

Not opposed if it makes sense financially. But, this quote....
“ We lost a form of entertainment for our students during the winter. Wrestling matches are exciting events for students to attend, especially when tickets to basketball games are limited.”
If the students need more sporting events in the winter, I see plenty of empty seats in the student section at many MBB games. And if they still need their sports fix satisfied, WBB always has a seat available.
And in the fall, fill up the hill.

An original Athens Olympic sport. Great sport!. Please bring it back; the ACC has some good wrestling programs.
I wrestled in HS in Ohio where it is a huge sport. Absolutely the toughest sport out there. Football is much easier as I played TE/DE all 4 years too.

Holy Cow! These guys are closing in on 15,000 signatures and it hasn’t even been out for two full days!
Men’s and Women’s teams should be installed to mitigate Title IX but that there should be some commitment from donors to help the University do it.

Love to see it happen but how many ACC schools have varsity wrestling? Also the reason most colleges eliminated wrestling as a varsity sport was title 9 spending. Anyone know if we can do this now and stay in compliance?

Wrestling is quickly growing in the south
