I disagree with your second part though. One loss doesn’t eliminate us. A one loss power 5 conference champion is still likely in, although it depends on other teams at that point.
There are only a few examples of one loss power 5 conference champions not getting in.

Bama and Oregon lost thier 1 game a long time ago.. They had time to climb back in.
Clemson loses now.. they will prob drop to 8 or 9 with no time to get back in it.
IF OSU, Tenn, UGA lose.. they can probably ESPN their way back in.
NO way Disney is going to get behind CLemson or TCU .

There has never been a one loss ASHESHE team make it in the playoffs. Get real. Stop saying embarrassing things. It's embarrassing enough to be in the ASHESHEE. If we lose to ND, we suck compared to the rest and don't belong.

Does anyone think ESPN thinks the ACC is power anything...irrespective of Clemson has accomplished or FSU before us or Miami...anything to support the SEC and dis all the rest!

Look at the landscape. If we lose a game, I don't see us getting in over a 1 loss SEC non-Champ (if it's the UGA/TENN winner) or a 1 loss Big10 non-Champ in tOSU/Mich loser (unless it's a blowout). Based on the sentiment I don't know if we get in over a 1 loss PAC12 Champ in that scenario.

playoff three times with one loss! In 2020, us and Notre Dame made the CFP, each with a loss! But that doesn't mean we would make it this year, with a loss! At this point, it would appear unlikely!

Why would we be done with one loss? Lost to Pitt at home and went on to win the natty. We shouldn’t assume all others will keep on winning. Other good teams will lose as the season progresses. Always happens. Totally agree that if we win out, we are definitely in!
