He’s an outlier. He has been so outspoken about how bad it is and why he isn’t using it.
We are the only major program not using it. That is naturally going to be a target for criticism, especially when you underachieve several years in a row.

It is all about pay for play. CBB does it, so it expects Dabo to do it as well. You know, CBB has all those post season championships.

I like how Dabo speaks up the majority of the time, he has guts others dont have. however regarding the portal i would have preferred him staying more neutral and not really saying much, also would have preferred him using it if only for a handful of times....to get 2 or 3 really top players.......if nothing more to shut off the narrative......but i do have to admit he has kept it alive by his own choice.
he tried to throw the fans off by saying he went after a good OL or two who chose michigan and another one who chose another school.......he kind of said it like "well i tried see.....i get credit "........but no you don't actually get credit for simply trying anymore than you get credit for all the people you recruited that picked somewhere else.

he's not trying.........he is, like you said, playing the fans to say he tried when he had no intentions of getting them in the first place...............and if he did "TRY" then he's terrible at it b/c he lost to Penn state, GT, Arkansas, & UNC

More media voices have something to lose if Dabo bucks the new financial buttercup awaiting on all of the recruiting and transfer deals ahead by winning without them.
With Kirby, the more Mutts kicked off the more openings and commissions there are for replacements.
