Looking at the big picture of the playoffs,

if there has ever been a time for a scorched earth policy for this team, it is now. With a weak closing schedule, seems to me we need to throttle the remaining teams instead playing the bench and skimming by. If Choklahoma beats Tcu and wins the Big 9 or 12 and Wisconsin wins out along with Notre Dame, It could be a coin toss for the 4th spot. Bama and Uga are beloved right now and a close loss by one of them to the other IMO, only hurts us. I know the argument for we have nothing to worry about if we win (which I don't agree with) but why not control our destiny and display strength?

a short walk from his office. I'd imagine those 2 have had a casual+ conversation about the beauty contest and the "particulars" of most importance to those that make the final decisions.
It's been clear since Day 1 that Dabo don't give a crap[his words] about "scorched earths" or point differential, I'd suggest possibly because he doesn't believe it's important to the powers-that-be and that "game control" as has been mentioned, is.
At the same time he's building depth and delivering on the promise of PT to those that have earned it.
I'm all for 56-7 or RUTS on trash like that high school program in Blacksburg, VA, but that's just me.

I agree with you that winning may not get us in but there is still a lot of things that will happen before December. I do think if everyone in the top 5 win this week we will be number 5 next week. I think this week we will see UGA get beat and we know that at least two top 10 will get beat this week so its going to be fun to see what happens in the coming weeks.
