No mobility exposes Tony Elliot…

Sep 5, 2021, 10:04 AM

I haven’t posted in a while mostly cause I didn’t feel like Clemson was going to beat Georgia from the get go. Why because our offensive line and offensive coordinator is atrocious. Teams like Ohio st Alabama has exposed the offensive line and play calling. Still though I believe the had we had Trevor Lawrence yesterday we win because of mobility and RPO Lawrence would have did just enough with his legs. But we don’t have a very mobile QB. Dj got a good arm when given the time. Going forward our defense is dang good. Defense is good enough to win most our games. I think we about a 9-3 to 10-2 type team. I’m not even thinking playoffs because if we do stumble our way in. The results will be the same. Offensive line and play calling will be exposed. Bottom line is Dabo needs a offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. We will not always have a Trevor Lawrence and Dashsaun Watson. That showed last night with Dj however with a good play caller the results could be different. Heck Chad Morris would have done better with DJ last night. Go Tigers

What are you talking about?! the last time we played alabama the final score was 44 - 16.

The rest of our games are easily manageable, 9-3 is a laughable prediction after losing to a top 5 team by a single possession.

I said 9-3 or 10-2 I’m leaning towards 10-2 but look this offense has got to click. It starts with the offensive line

True on that score, but wasn’t that with a mobile QB mentioned in the OP?

You bring up some good points. How Elliot and really Dabo adjusts to DJ's strengths and weaknesses will define this year.

When I remember how Chad Morris was forcing Cole Stoudt to run his HUNH offense when he was clearly out of his depth and when he left, Tony Elliot (and Jeff Scott) simplified the offense for the bowl and Stoudt had a career game.

I'm seeing a lot of Logan Thomas in DJ right now. He's a tall kid with a slower released than his predecessor and he may not have the skillset to run this offense.

DJ has a slower release, can't run the zone read and apparently can't run the RPO. So we have a stationary QB with a cannon arm..what do you do? Maybe a pro-set ball control offense to slow the game down?

When we beat Alabama, Jeff Scott was with us. Elliott has proven nothing and needs to go. DJ is not a competitive person. He went down several times with one arm. He was scared and no fight in him. He weighs 250 and should have lowered the boom on some dawgs. The o line might as well have stayed Home and let our d line play both ways.
