Can we no longer evaluate talent?

Because it is hard to see where you look at our teams against the best out there and say we're in the same league with them. I keep hearing from Dabo he likes our guys . . . .

I don't think we have too much of a problem evaluating talent. It's just coaching the talent at this point. We have a handful of WR's that could BE something if we had someone to coach them. Cade could BE something if someone would actually coach him well. We have talented TE's that aren't used enough considering our receiver woes. I'm confident in Spiller being our running backs coach and Matt Luke being our OLine coach. Every other coach and analyst though? Hot seat or chopping block. This offense could BE something if it wasn't coached into a chaotic mess. I'm just tired of them being lost in this desert with no water in sight.

I think this is becoming more evident and it's why I would like Jeff Scott to come back on and help with recruiting.

The talent is there. It needs to be coached.

Difficult to say they aren't being coached well. What is the basis? Could just be not as good as we thought.

Recruiting is down, a few players transfer out every year,

And we don’t take portal players. That’s a recipe for disaster. We know longer have players that look the part when we line up against the opponent.

Also the lack of competition seems mild or even pathetic. Which is why if the Best is the Standard than why the crap are we not bringing in portal players to attack their position and cause a challenge and a fight for spots?

*Ofcourse we still have freak athletes (Carter, Woods, and multiple others) and yes 3 stars can end up very very good BUT I’ll take a roster of 4 and 5 stars every day.

How many offers go out at the end of the year for “developmental players”?

All players are developmental. They should be working and being coached to get better.

We’re offering the top of the board guys, losing all of them to Georgia, Ohio State, Bama, Michigan, places like that. We’re just not getting the same guys that we used to

It's not evaluation or coaching. We just can't get better players to cone here.

It's a fine line. But it does feel like we are missing out on some. But we have clearing missed on two straight 5 star QBs. Swing and miss big time.

Could be some of it, but I think development and coaching

And it’s not just about evaluation. Every staff will miss on kids. It’s not recognizing that you’ve missed is the problem here. It’s the loyalty to a fault mentality
