Maybe the same number of hill passes are sold for each event

Perhaps if the Hill section is a part of student seating and their attendance / presence in that section is lacking for whatever reasons.
I would guess the folks in charge of public safety & fire marshal say there can be so many hill passes _ once they are given out it’s up to the people who have them to show up.

After that, it's up to people to show up. Clemson sells out (81,500 tickets sold) most football games.
We had 6 games in 2023 where we sold over 81,000 tickets.
I'm sorry to say, but the difference is in the fans, and the motivation to watch the event live. It was higher for this game in the valley. And clemson does pack the stadium as well, but that's the rare mega-game. Probably less than 1% of tickets sold ended up without a butt in the seat last night. That number is probably 5% or higher for most Clemson home sellout football games.
AND STUDENTS ARE SADLY A LARGE PART OF THAT.

Tell me the difference? Fire marshall capped that limit at 81K back when we crammed like 85-6K in for some game. But 81k tix is 81K tix. Fans, they're the variable.
And since access to the hill has been limited, and it's all students, well, that leaves the students as being responsible when 81K tix are sold and you see grass on the hill.

Last nites crowd on Hill was totally different demographic.
Those last nite were eager to get there early.
Our getting drunk Saturday FB student crowd is not motivated to fill the Hill. Most want good seats b/c they are more pampered than ever.
What you’ll see this Fall is more of the same.
Except for the LSU opener 😎

It looked pretty sparce like most football games. It had tons of room compared to late 90s/early 2000s games when I stood on it.

I was one of maybe 2 -3 folks that thought the planned upgrade to make it more like a terraced amphitheater would help.
