Just pick one in Hendersonville... more Clemson folks. AVL bars have more tourist mostly from Ohio and Florida.
Anyway, you should really just do the brewery tours/shlep. Highland, Sweeten Creek, Greenman, Hiwire, etc. Be weary as a lot of the "corporate" beers companies like InBev have been sneaking in and buying out some locals: thus avoid wicked weed.

Agreed about AVL and the bars there, likely to be little to no Clemson fans there. More likely to have Tarholes than anything else.

Burial is good. I highly recommend it. Their IPAs are very good and a bit of their specialty IMO so if you like that direction go for it. I like my dark beers and keep to porters and stouts mostly or ESB. Their imperial stouts are good but my "summer" beers are bitters so, to each their own. My four are just the four I frequent the most, not exclusively.
In AVL you will find your beer.

Hickory Tavern on Town Square Blvd in Asheville has lots of tv’s. We watched a game there last year.
