nowhere near the levels of freakout I’ve been listening to from the right for years now (which apparently were largely disingenuous). Immigration policy needs to be fixed, and that’s where resources should mostly be spent. We need foreign labor for our economy to function.

He is one of the most conservative senators out there and he says they are still writing it so it can't be distributed yet. Far as I can tell, Schumer can't put it up for vote until it is written and reviewed. I agree, it's really simple. Pub senators were talking this thing up and saying they were getting just what they wanted ... "the most conservative immigration legislation ever" including several things Trump had asked for back in 17-19. Trump heard this and sent out word to kill it and next thing you know Cruz & Co. are in front of the cameras saying how bad this thing is and Lankford is getting crapped on by his own state party. Another regular pub thrown under the bus by the Donald. Next thing you know, they will all be calling him a Rino and all he did was exactly what they asked him to do(i.e. negotiate a good immigration bill for his team). Shame!

It is my understanding (and most sane people that follow the news) that it was the pubs that said that "they would not consider any aid for Ukr./Isr./Ti. unless border legislation was address with it". Oh and btw, Lankford said in many interviews on Sunday(CNN/CBS/FOX) that they have been negotiating for 4 months and not the 2 that most people brought up. Nature of the beast with something this big.
