What do the contracts look like? Be interesting to see how much they have to pay back. Can't wait for for the a school or $$ giver to sue a player for the balance.

Can’t sue for promotion. In other words they’re being paid for an endorsement that doesn’t exist. Hard to sue for a nonexistent product endorsement. Did BoJangles sue DJ after he stunk it up? That was a true NIL deal. This “NIL” money to come play for us is a bunch of pooled money being called NIL deals. It’s pay for play. Which is why Tommy Tuberville is working hard to pass legislation to stop it. They want to make it a legit endorsement for a product which has to be okayed through a national clearinghouse. This is why all these schools are promising NIL money they don’t have hoping the house vs ncaa (revenue sharing for players) case is settled before the NIL money they’re promising has to be paid. Because they don’t have it yet. Each school is counting on that $20 million settlement. It’s the Wild West and a cluster you know what right now.

Schools like SC, Duke, Ole Miss, and all the tradition non-football powerhouses are making these insane portal moves. It’s their only chance to make a huge jump up. They will be really screwed if the House VS NCAA settlement is pushed back a year. There have been quite a few articles discussing how they are spending money they don’t have yet.

Thanks for a great response.

Hopefully the clearing house will fix the pay for play, but the dawgs ;) have already been let loose.

No worries. It’s very confusing. There are already reports of promises not fulfilled by many schools. Many of these deals are backroom handshakes.

If it does then players who thing they might be playing for one year would never sign with the school filing the lawsuit(s).
