You know, I have watched B. K. play for soon to be 3 seasons. And in that time I have not seen one game that made me say wow. Not one. I'm not knocking the kid, I'm sure he's a nice young man and all that. But since midway of his freshman year all the experts have touted him as the next big thing. His arm is ok, he has a decent release. His footwork is ok, just ok. From what I have seen he is above average at reading a defense. So... all that and your saying he's better than a kid who has simply won at every level, has what many experts call the best touch on a deep ball seen at ANY LEVEL, and is as athletic as they come? Yeah.. seems legit. SMH

He was (still is) a good guy, a serviceable college Quarterback, but he was never a guy that was going to put it together in the pros.

Clemson's destruction of Kaya is more of a statement to Clemson's strength and the sad sacks surrounding Kaya.
I'm biased and I do believe that Watson is superior in all ways with the exception of height. Kaya is listed as 6' 4" and to NFL scouts the taller the better (to a point) all else being equal. I've heard that DW is a generous 6' 2". If i had to bet, Id still predict DW as #1 QB to go off the board. He has the complete package with the exception of height. Yes, Drew Breed has shown that a 6 footer can get it done. I know.

You can't teach stupid, it's inherited. I'm hoping he can draw from enough intelligent people and change his assertion once the season is at an end. If he can't and his innate stupid prevails, he will probably stick to his guns and vote for Kaya for Heisman should he have a vote, regardless of how much better Watson is, just because he doesn't have the ability to interpret differently.

He was the water boy at Richmond U. He has never played college football. May he was a bench warmer in high school. But it just supports my opinion that all you have to do is get a job with ESPN or Fox etc...and you immediately become an (####)yst.
Basically the article shows McShay is off by an average of 35 spots when rating players and ranking them.
DW4 # Ranked QB and CF player! It's that ESPN biased towards Clemson. And they are so obvious about it.

At first I was very amused at this post...Now, I'm just confused - after listening to the other video post of this guy (http://www.tigernet.com/update/player/WATCH-Todd-McShay-discusses-Watson-SportsCenter-23801?ref=front)...I haven't heard either interview in its unedited format, nor do I know which broadcast aired first, but at face value it sounds like he has successfully spoken out of both sides of his mouth.

Chris Cotter: Is there one quarterback that may be - is more ready than Deshawn Watson to step right in; if you're an NFL team and I need a guy that's going to really compete like a Carson Wentz this upcoming year for that top spot right away?
Todd McShay: I think Brad Kaaya is probably the most NFL ready of all these guys because he, -- he doesn't have a big arm and he, he needs to get a little bit bigger in terms of just his bulk or to hold up -- but he has the height, he can see the whole field and he does it because he has fast eyes and the guy processes information - from what I see on tape - so quickly and efficiently. He has good anticipation which he needs to have if you don't have that big time elite arm. And, and he's, he throws with a lot of touch. I, I think if the offense of system's better this year with Mark Richt there and if they can put together things and…and protected better and put him in better situations, I think he has a chance to really kind of rise up and become, nationally, one...known as one of the elite quarterbacks, where is right now there's just so many questions about him because of the supporting cast.

Kaaya does play in a pro-style offense. That is the only thing he has "over" Watson and I use that term loosely.
What we have learned as of late in the NFL is two things....
1) Size matters: there is a reason QBs like RGIII and Kapernick have struggled in the NFL while Cam Newton have survived. It is not easy to take hits when you are small verses 6'6" 255lbs. No matter if you liable to take off or stand tall in a pocket, if you can't handle the hits, you will not be effective.
2) Can Newton went 14-1 to the Super Bowl last year, two years ago, Russell Wilson won a Super Bowl. Know what each have in common? Neither team play in what is known as a "Pro Style" offense. Just because it is drop back doesn't mean its pro style. Watch close enough Watson will drop back, too. The biggest part is their abilities to decipher the opposing defense's tendencies and exploit them...Deshaun shredded the Miami defense. Kaaya, not much...

"NFL ready" and "better" are completely different concepts. "NFL ready" can be attributed solely to the offenvise scheme that Miami runs vs Clemson's offense. Obviously, DW is the better QB. Better mechanics, arm strength, mobility, decision making and over all effectiveness (especially effectiveness in big games).

Kaaya already has a lot more experience running for his life and plucking turf from his britches than DW. So he'll be a master at that.

Agreed. And Kaaya doesn't strike me as one who can run away very well, while this is one of Watson's specialties. I'll take a scrambler/thrower over a slow footed thrower any day.
