NFL evaluation is like HS recruiting evaluations.

You can have lots of data and information, but it's still a guess.
NFL hits and misses on QBs with every draft.
No need to go down the lists from past years.
I suspect the reason JT is listed so low is because of a combination of arm strength, size, and accuracy.
Whether they are right or wrong about Travis remains to be seen. But, there is no doubt in my mind that this year, with the top 10 QBs drafted the success of each one will have little to do with the order in which they were drafted.

Off topic and you've probably already listened to this but wanted to post it just in case you haven't heard it. Good link talking about Norvell and fsu culture. Eerily similar.

A good QB might want to be drafted a bit later - increasing their chances of getting with a team that doesn't suck.

I think JT around 6-7 is fair and accurate. Having Bo Nix as a clear first rounder and JT 11th doesn’t seem like a fair evaluation. I like Nix, but also JT. Maye, Williams and others are going to have classic NFL appeal but I do not agree with 11th. Kid can play ball.

Well, Nix is in his 30's now.... so the NFL team that gets him may get 3-4 years at best. LMAO

Agree on this Bret. I am a big believer that for most QBs drafted, the situation and coaches they have early in their career ultimately makes a big difference. Some guys would be successful anywhere but many need a good situation to get the right development.

Not too shabby even at 11 when you consider he was a 3* 86 composite and didn't rank in top 1000 prospects. Kudos for him believing in himself, putting in the work, and perhaps the biggest factor was found the right coach.
As the op said, probably matters more if he's put in the right fit. Kinda like a Jalen hurts.

Yeah, it’s definitely all opinion based. I actually went earlier and was reading Cades “evaluation” and I thought to myself “well where the #### is this player at”. It was basically exact opposite of what we’ve seen from him this season.

I think Tom Brady's comments on this topic the other day was dead on. I am hopeful that organizations will start leaning toward a new younger crop of coaches that evolve the game. These old heads now have just turned the product into sh*t.
Brady said the responsibility of player protection needs to be on the players themselves. I agree with that with the minor exception that the league does have to do something in order to protect its own ### from getting sued by guys like Dan Marino over CTE.
Pivoting...The most concerning thing to me about the NFL is the talent and depth on the OL position. Those positions have declined drastically over time more than any other in the game. OL play is just outright awful today.
