On paper it would be a good hire but there is no such thing as a home run hire. If you had a nickel for every time a fan proclaimed Coach X was a home run hire but failed, you would be a very rich man.

I personally am fond of Tim Banks a bit more than it seems a few other posters may be, but Leonhard is undeniably the best option on paper that Dabo could hire. Just a total grand slam hire if it comes to fruition.

He is the greatest 5’8” DB, and my personal hero, as a fellow short white guy!
DB Leonard was my inspiration as player in high school.
He went from walk-on to all-American and could dunk a basketball! Just an incredible athlete

Jim Leonhard is one of the best defensive minds around and specializes with DBs.
This wouldn’t just be a home run… it would be a friggin grand slam.

I’m already in the football doghouse because I was completely wrong about K club Nikk and I’ve been on Dabo‘s ###, but that man showed me once again that I am wrong and he is willing to do what he will have to to win.. he didn’t make good hires the past few years, but he is fixing that.

He is young. Idk how long Dabo is interested in being around but definitely would be a good successor to Dabo. That’s why he left Wisconsin. He should have been giving the job when he was the interim.
