Without overhauling the roster, we bring back what may be a losing football team- our roster will be that depleted.

So does Dabo abandon his approach and do a 180…or is next year Dabo’s last as Clemson’s HC?

We need to retain our top guys and get a minimum of 6 starters in the portal next year to field a competitive team. Next year won’t be swinneys last, nor will 2027. By 2028, if we haven’t started to portal or recruit at a much higher level, I can see Dabo walking away.

About the most logical response in this thread.

Retain the top talent and start embracing the portal. I think Dabo is taking a slow approach intentionally to see how transfer players may integrate before going to the well more. With what I've seen from Held and the small sample size of Tristan and Jeremiah it's encouraging.

My guess is if Clemson starts hitting the portal it's going to be for FCS/G5 players in hopes of grabbing the overlooked talent and experience to fulfill the gaps where talent ain't working out.

All we have to do is practice 5 yard out patterns and keep Cade rolling out the pocket scared to death over and over and it will work. No new plays required.

Dabo would never but we need to get a QB from the portal that’s a proven baller. I don’t think Chris is going to be any better than Cade. It all starts with the signal caller.
