Congrats to Mart for a great baseball career. I fondly remember his playing days in Clemson and the pros.

Can't believe it

he was big-time when I was at Clemson. His name conjures up memories of some pretty awesome tiger baseball teams playing along side of players like Kris Benson, Billy Koch, Shane Monanhan, etc.... I graduated in "96, so seeing a white-bearded Matthew LeCroy on the front page makes me feel almost as old as he looks.

I was thining the same thing

Remember playing against him in high school. He threw out our fastest player trying to steal 2nd by about 5 steps. He could get the ball to second base on his knees faster than their pitcher could throw to him from the mound.

I played against him too

Matt was a great catcher and BHP had a pitcher, as, big time player who liked CU, but was drafted in the 2nd round named Chad Roper. He went to pro ball and never got past AA.

I always wondered what would have happened with him if he signed at CU with Matt.

We were blessed to be allowed to take my son to his house in Belton for lessons. He really helped my son! He is a great guy, a great role model, and has a gift for teaching. My son is going to Erskine this fall on a baseball scholarship and Matthew was a part of getting him there!
