New Story: A father lost, a gift given and an orange-clad guardian angel

Dec 9, 2016, 7:01 AM

A father lost, a gift given and an orange-clad guardian angel

“There is nothing I should be scared of anymore.” Those last words spoken by Tom Sheriff are telling. They speak of how the lifelong Clemson fan, father and husband lived his life, and now his wife is using those words to deal with a heartbreaking holiday tragedy. Along with a little help from Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney. Full Story »

What a sad story

Dec 9, 2016, 8:01 AM

It shows us how fragile life really is. You're here one minute and gone the next.

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

I say that at least once or twice a week. Something could take us out of this world any second, we don't known.

Not Surprised at all!

Dec 9, 2016, 8:14 AM

That's Dabo. I once went to the Clemson University website, looked up his email address, and sent him an email about a boss of mine who was having heart bypass surgery and the next thing I know my boss is telling me he received a signed jersey in the mail! Dabo is an inspiration to all!

Prayers for the family as they deal with this tragedy. So glad that we have Dabo as our coach and representative of Clemson. There's very few coaches that would do what he did.

This is a true tragedy. I hit the GoFundMe page, and if any of you have the capacity to spare a few dollars, please do the same. This family is in a world of hurt right now, and every little bit of help counts.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Thank you, Sherriffs!

Thanks to this incredible family for sharing the real joy and hope of Christmas. It's also Dabo's Source.

May God hold you in His arms and make His presence felt this Christmas. You are all an inspiration to us.

David Hood, thank you for writing this article. We are blessed to have you in the Clemson family. Merry Christmas.

This story truely touched me and my families hearts. Dabo is an amazing man. A man as busy as Dabo to take time to contact someone shows he has a huge heart. My father passed away around the same time Dabos did. I can only imagine what the Sherrif family is going through. The Clemson fanbase is amazing as well. If you're able to. Please donate whatever you can to help this family. I just donated to the link. God Bless and Go Tigers!!!
