I still think Kamela Harris will not be a good president, and last night affirmed that. She dodged important questions that I wanted answered, especially on the economy or how the Biden admin didn't lift Trump's tariffs or the Afghanistan disaster. She repeatedly said she would address points and then never did it. I didn't feel like I came away with any substance on her or any indication she is fit to lead this nation. The only real positive was her message of unity, but I've learned over the years to temper my expectations when the Dems promise that.
That being said, that was the biggest ### whipping I've ever seen in a presidential debate; I felt like I was watching UGA beat Clemson again. What a feeble, weak-minded, incompetent manbaby Trump proved to be. As I saw in one joke meme that played off Trump's made-up abortion claims, Harris killed a baby in his 78th year of life.
For the first 15 minutes or so, it was even and maybe even Trump's show. But as soon as she made fun of people leaving his rallies, he lost it and could never recover. Which proves one of the points Harris made: Trump can be easily manipulated by praise or mockery, making him a weak and feeble opponent to smarter, sinister dictators. He doesn't have the mental capacity to handle inflations or attacks on his ego.
If you are a Trump lover and you walked away from last night feeling good, you're just as senile and lost as the big orange baby. That was a disaster, and he made an incompetent nobody woman look like the exact opposite last night. When he spouted off the "they're eating dogs" comment, the moderators should have invoked the mercy rule. Also, how incredibly stupid any of you were for believing that pet-eating myth because... (checks notes) Trump and Vance claimed it.
If only there had been better, saner Republican candidates to choose from who would have trounced Biden or Harris... oh yeah! Y'all didn't want them. What was it? You claimed Nikki Haley was really a secret liberal?
Every ####### independent here, every real Republican, every ####### poll told you that Haley or maybe even someone else would have crushed Biden/Harris, but you didn't want to listen. You were too worried about MAGA! Owning the libs! Make raped teenagers have babies! Evil immigrants!
A Republican would be steamrolling to the White House right now if you MAGA clowns had listened and paid attention to the data; now you have a bumbling senile imbecile.
If you voted for Trump in the primaries and Harris wins this election, you have no one to blame but yourself. Not the Deep State. Not made-up election fraud. Not weird conspiracies like notepads on the podium. Not the media. Just you. That's it.

Went pretty much to the letter how I figured it was going to go.
Like I said yesterday: Trump's a known quantity now, with ten years of book on him - not that anyone needed nearly that much; he's a man of few and repetitive tricks. People who think Harris is "stupid" completely whiffed on her; she's that annoying, insufferable, overachieving class Valedictorian that never made a "B" in her life and who prepares and overprepares and then prepares some more. Trump wings it, and he's half-senile to boot.
This was not a hard one to call.

First off it was 3 vs 1. That was a disgusting display by the moderators. Wonder why no democrat will agree to a foxnews debate?
Also, there was a police report filed in Ohio, claiming Haitians stole 4 geese. Citizens of Springfield said as much at a city council meeting.
Trump started getting unnecessarily defensive and angry once he realized it was 3 vs. 1 . Did you know that the lady who runs ABC, Dana Walden, is a close friend of Kamala? She is responsible for Kamala and her husband meeting. This debate was anything but fair. Kamala told lie after lie.
So yeah he lost the debate to ABC. All Trump should’ve said is why haven’t you done anything in the past 3.5 years to fix the problems? That you caused.
She is literally saying she’s gonna fix the problems that her and Biden caused. You have to be an idiot to actually vote for her after the past 4 years.

The moderators were not biased.
The moderator simply called Trump out when he was talking junk.
If you’re gonna talk junk and lie, you gotta be prepared for people to come back at ya. Trump was not prepared.
A biased moderator (Fox) would not have clarified some of the inaccurate statements Trump made.

Only one of the two people on stage was repeating well known lie after well known lie. The closest RTD could come to a Harris lie was "good people on both sides", which is something Trump actually said so it's not even actually a lie.
No, if anything, the format of this debate simply did not allow for rebuttals to responses, i.e., a THIRD time taking the mike on the same question, and yet the moderators not only let Trump have this third response spot multiple times contrary to stated debate rules and format, they let him ramble for almost 2 minutes over 8 different subjects, every time. The moderators had little control over the debate.
Also, a moderator saying "Mr. Trump, you said __________, how do you address that now?"
"I didn't say that. When did I say that? Maybe I said that." isn't fact-checking, or moderators ganging up on Trump. This is just him lying in realtime about something he actually said. This was quite obvious to non-MAGAs.

Yet when Trump brought up babies being aborted and even killed after they are born, the lady interjected and said, “There is no state where it’s legal to kill a baby.” First off thst isn’t true and second off, that’s not her job. In states like Minnesota it is legal to deny a baby life saving care after it’s born if the mother says so. The former Virginia governor did say that if the baby is born alive after an abortion, they let the mother decide if they want to keep the baby alive. He said they make the baby comfortable and essentially let it die. I guess it depends on you view on wether you believe that’s execution or not. This is Governor Ralph Northam’s exact statement: If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen,” Northam says in a video from the 2019 interview being shared online. “The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”
Regardless, the moderators interjected themselves the entire debate. But only on Trump. That isn’t their job, the moderators shouldn’t be trying to prove a debater wrong.

BUT....what you're leaving out is the context he provided in the sentences before this selectively trimmed snippet of a larger statement. Here:

I've told the story several times. When she said that comment, asking people to go to a Trump rally, it was a home run.
That being said, rallys are generally filled with worshipers, dem and pub. But there was far more idolatry than I expected,at the Trump rally I attended . Made for a very "uneasy" feeling.

And Silver has upped the odds that Trump wins.

He had valid points about the problems of the Biden admin and he should have focused there. But as soon as she attacked the rallies, he went off the rails. He can't control his ego.
EDIT: I'm better off, but I don't think any of that has to do with Trump or Biden.

am better off. However, the value of that indicator is diminishing by the quarter due to absolutely SURGING operational expenses from a month-to-month, family support perspective.
But I'm better off b/c I left a #### hole city. I got an entirely new job and rode the covid wave of massive capex spending. My next 8 quarters look substantially worse than my previous 8 quarters due to the policy strategies of this administration and Fed.
And I'm not alone. Earnings reports across multiple market verticals are indicating as such as well.
My housing costs are locked in at 2.5% in a low crime, low tax, very family friendly environment. I don't pay state income taxes. My wife and I are both very high earners for our age.
We're getting squeezed like a pimple. And no one will admit that due to (gasp) perhaps giving a sliver of support to the moron. I couldn't imagine even being in my income bracket and having to purchase a new house. No chance you could make it on half our household income (still double the median) and raise a family in this environment.
The economic principles of this administration are completely broken and unsustainable.

I predict he will lose plenty of moderates on both sides and swing voters after that total shid show. Lots of coping/typical blaming of others going on from the MAGA crowd last night and today. Similar to both Pub and Dem presidents in my lifetime _ with the exception of DJT. These politicians answer questions with the spin that they want you to hear _ often indirectly and rarely fully addressing the issue. Nikki Haley is also accomplished at this game.
The 2016 Trump was more direct even while rambling about through stories _ his answers could be comprehended and at times refreshingly truthful. The 2024 Trump is an angry, disjointed, often incoherent and in a reality significantly out of touch with facts. His mental state is questionable. When pinned down, his comments likely didn’t win any undecided or new voters.

stepping down. And I love how for the last 3.5 years, people have been calling Harris stupid, a ditz, someone who slept their way to the top, despite State's DA being an elected position, and so on. She had him on the end of a string, it could have been worse, she missed a lot of opportunities and seemed to be rattling off scripted talking points. But the point being, she ate his lunch as expected, she made a career out of setting up criminals on the witness stand. She had trump on his heels most of the night.
Oh, and blaming the moderators for fact-checking in real time, is lame, that is their job. For once, I was happy to see Trump get called out for lying by the media.

I didn't say she fixes it. I said she wins. Easily. And even though I have issues with her, I'd much rather have her--an adult in the room who could unite people--over these two current candidates.
Haley was the answer to taking control back from the Dems and calming some #### down, but Trumpkins stupidly remained loyal to him despite warnings. That's because they still fallaciously hold onto the notion that most of America shares their perverted vision when, in fact, most reject it.
