I prefer that they make good decisions and if you decide to have sex buy your own condoms. Part of the nanny state we have created. Have to tell them how to have sex and supply the condoms. Some of the comments on here are unreal.

College students are going to have sex whether they have money for condoms or not. If colleges handing out free condoms results in fewer students accidentally getting pregnant, that seems like a good thing to me. Fewer unplanned pregnancies = fewer abortions.

Having sex before marriage is immoral, so those people actually deserve their STDs and unwanted pregnancies. Condoms are bad because they prevent people from receiving punishment for their immoral acts. Abortions are also bad, but promiscuous women going unpunished is worse.

Yes, it's been that way for decades but we were to dumb to handout condoms.
College students also drink, do drugs, get tattoos, etc. Where is the free tattoo?
And what about the people allergic to latex? What are they going to do? Get a free abortion?

I got free condoms in ‘86 from student health. Gave them in brown paper bag.
Was in and live in fraternity house, no group sex there lol. If there was in sororities I would need pigs to verify it happens

As compared to what society in what era in what country, faith, or normal human population are we degenerate?
There are some very interesting studies of the dates marriages were recorded in English churches going back hundreds of years comparing them to the dates when first born children arrived as recorded by those same churches. Bottom line is that men and women have been having sex without the bonds of marriage FOREVER. Heck the common term for such activity in South Carolina was well known; "Common Law Marriages" are part of our history.
Sexual activity among unmarried young people is in no way degenerate. It is normal. As is birth control.
I'm 73 years old. The long running tradition of older, married, faithful people forgetting who they were and what they did when they were young is obvious, unwarranted and unnecessary.
By kids, btw are all over 30, apparently happily married and faithful. Wife and I recently celebrated our 50th anniversary.
I think the idea of reminding young people who get to college that unwanted pregnancies can be avoided is a great idea.

I can assure you college students are already having plenty of group sex and one-night stands on campuses all over the country, whether it's mentioned in their welcome packets or not.
