Heisman for Tajh..or NC for Team, if given a choice between?

May 4, 2013, 1:16 AM

If the chance of winning one over the other was 50-50, I would want the NC for the Team.

Trouble is, Clemson's chance of winning the NC is probably less than 15%, while Tajh's chance of winning the Heisman may be 25% or even better.

I bring this up after seeing how freaking many Heisman trophies Notre Dame has in their trophy case..which is something I dearly want for Clemson.

Our rivals have ONE Heisman, but no NC...while we have the NC and no Heisman. Which brings me to another question..which of the two schools will get that trophy First that they don't have now?!

Clemson or SC. What say you?!

GoTiGERs! Good luck for acquiring BOTH trophies in '13 and/or 2014..So Play Ball..CHAMPIONSHIP BALL.

Since we're in the ACC I believe we must go undefeated

May 4, 2013, 2:59 AM

to have a shot at a Heisman winner. That being said, especially since we have (at least) 2 top 10 SEC games this season, if we go undefeated I don't think there's any way anybody can take the Heisman away from Boyd if he averages 2 TDs per game against the big boys.

I think most folks here would take the NC even if the catch was that Clowney wins the Heisman!

NC - shouldn't even be a question. Tajh would say the same***

"our rivals"? You make that sound like a reference to SCAR.

May 4, 2013, 6:56 AM

They are not worthy of being considered our rivals. Dabo's famous rant said it all.

Four state championships in a row hardly compares to our numerous conference titles, division titles, and the MNC in '81.

That said, and to answer your question, I would LOVE to see a Clemson man win the Heisman and would LOVE for Tajh to be that guy. In fact, I would love for Sammy to have another great year and for Sammy and Tajh to go to New York together. I would like this as much as a BCS championship, maybe more. This year, if I had to pick, I would like to see Tajh win the Heisman.

Yep. All this nonsensical talk about how South Carolina isn't worthy of being our rival is laughable until we start beating them again.

South Carolina has my attention. And they should have everyone else's too.

Would you trade the 2 baseball titles for a NC in football?

Ok, I am gonna be difficult and say, " I want my cake and eat it too!!!"

My orange colored glasses just won't let me choose! I want both because I wasn't alive (though in my mom getting ready) for our NC and I really think Tajh deserves it! That is my optimal situation. Sorry for being difficult.

bring up the MNC. When we win the MNC this year Tajh should already have his swag by then. Go Tigers!!!

Enjoy your posts Bill ... but this one's a "no duh" choice

May 4, 2013, 9:12 AM

Nat'l Championship all the way. Your percentages are unscientifically bogus which is fine. My unscientific quick and dirty calculation of Clemson's chances to win Nat'l Championship is about 5.2% (60% chance of UGA win, 65% chance of FSU win, 50% chance of SC win, 85% chance of winning balance of regular season, 70% chance of beating MIA in ACCCG, 45% chance of beating ALA in Nat'l Championship game.) I'll take a 1/20 chance of winning the Natl Championship. And if we have to lose a big game this year, as bad as it will hurt, UGA loss would be the least damaging provided we win out. In this scenario, we would still end up Top 5.

If we win the Nat'l Championship, then Tajh is the frontrunner for the Heisman. We don't win it, and Tajh's odds are less than 25%. A lot of season ahead. We'll be pulling to win the big games and expecting to win the others .. Syracuse on the road could be a trap game. Spot the ball. Go Tigers!

Vegas odds are 25-1 now. USC is 60-1 and SCar is 15-1. So much for that - SCar's odds of winning the SEC have to be worse than 15-1.

I don't think there is any choice involved. With our schedule this year if we go undefeated I can't see any way that Tajh wouldn't win the Heisman:) I want both!!!!!

The two might be tied together. Tajh might not have a chance to win the Heisman unless he puts up big numbers on a NC team.
