Napier vs. Morris vs. Scott

Dec 2, 2014, 5:05 PM

I remember hearing Dabo speaking at the Clemson Club meeting in Columbia after he had fired Napier and hired Morris. He said that Napier stepped in when Dabo was named mid year. We finished the year on a high note so he kept the staff the same. The next year we make it to the ACC championship so he didn't feel the need for a change. But the following year when change was needed, it was made...not Freidgen like so many wanted but an unproven coach. Turned out well and appeared that Dabo had a plan...so...it seems that he may well know what he is doing. I have total confidence that the man who hired Morris and Venables knows what he is doing.

napier didn't have an offensive identity........

we appeared scattered as to what we wanted to do on offense.......that's 2009 included.......yes we went to the ACCCG that year but we were an 8-4 regular season team.

Morris was a brilliant hire from the get go

I think scott as OC (b/c i'm assuming he'll be calling the plays) is a good hire on the surface.........however i can understand why some are "iffy" about the decision..........i'm a little nervous about it b/c he's completely unproven.............but all in all i think it's a decent hire (and i say decent b/c i want to see his play calling skills first before i "crown him").......the talent is there for sure.

When Dabo was named interim coach, Rob Spence was the offensive coordinator. After less than an hour on the job, Dabo fired Spence and moved Napier into the position.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

If Napier had gotten the chance to have Watkins

Boyd, Nuk, Bryant and Ellington on the field at the same time, he would have looked like an offensive genius
