Not an original thought - Brian Kelly said that in his post game press conference after beating us. However, nothing has changed ..

Misdirection. Scheme playmakers open. Here’s the most important part: make routine plays routinely. We make routine look hard.
I know plenty of friendly coots. Some of the best people I know are chickens. It’s just means they aren’t very smart.

^^^^^^^^^This. The offense will never improve with Cade over center. He's a head case.

1st down
"Quarterback will hand it to someone who will run into someone's butt."
2nd down
"Quarterback will throw to the guy on the sideline but three people will tackle him immediately while his team mates watch."
3rd down
"Quarterback will back up to throw but instead starts running sideways and throws it to a cheerleader."
4th down
"Pretty sure a guy will kick it for about 25 yards."
I have learned to not make a bet with her on this subject.

But it shouldn’t matter how predictable you are if you execute.
I’ve coached teams where we knew exactly where the other team was going with the ball and we couldn’t stop it. I’ve also had teams that knew exactly where we were going and couldn’t stop it. You have to execute. Finally, being predictable inherently opens the door for being unpredictable.
That’s not a defense of our offense though, just an observation about predictability.

Look at Army for confirmation of this predictability. EVERYONE knows they are going to run the ball 90% of the time. They can still run the ball....

Every DC we've faced this year probably said the same exact thing. My vote to fix it is replace the OC. But I bbn at the truth is probably more complicated than that.
